Carrie Underwood is one of the most low-key cover girls we’ve ever had, showing up to our shoot in her pajamas and explaining that she even does her own laundry while she’s on tour. “Domestic chores make me feel at home,” she says. The 26-year-old singer, whose newest CD, Play On, drops this month, even apologized to an audience once for not looking cute enough when she threw on a sweatshirt in near-zero temperatures. “I love dressing up when I’m in front of a crowd,” she says, “but in my downtime, nothing beats a great pair of sweats.”

Carrie Underwood may sing about heartbreak, but in real life she’s found love with boyfriend Mike Fisher, giving the hockey player a shout-out on the liner notes of her new CD, Play On.

“Thank you #12,” she writes in the notes, referring to the Ottawa Senator player’s jersey number. “You are the most amazing addition to my life! You are such a wonderful person and have had such an amazing hand in the building of this album and in the growth of me as a person. I love you so much! You make my life better in every way! I thank God for you every day… xoxo, Carrie.”

Though the couple have mostly remained under the radar, recently they’ve been more open about their nearly year-long relationship. Last month Fisher talked to The Sens Show, a Web news program for his team, saying the busy twosome work hard to spend time together.

“Obviously it’s tough with our schedules to see each other,” he said at the time. “But we always find a way to make it work.”

Looks like Carrie Underwood won’t be singing the blues any time soon. Though she was linked to former Bachelor star Travis Stork this past fall, Carrie celebrated New Year’s Eve with a different kind of player: Ottawa Senators hockey star Mike Fisher.

Carrie, 25, and Mike, 28, were spotted at a Dec. 31 party at the home of Mike’s teammate Jason Spezza. “All Mike’s teammates know he and Carrie are together,” an insider confirms.

And Mike is apparently too excited to keep the good news to himself. “Mike texted me to let me know he’s dating Carrie,” his pal and personal trainer, Tony Greco says. “He’s been waiting for the right girl to come along. Carrie’s perfect for him.”

Adds the insider, “They met in March and started hanging out shortly after.” And love appears to be turning the country singer into a major sports fan. Carrie was recently spotted at one of Mike’s games, where she made it onto the Jumbotron.
