Authorities say D’Angelo was caught in New York City trying to pay $40 for sex with an undercover cop posing as a prostitute.

Police said Monday that the 36-year-old R&B singer was arrested early Saturday while behind the wheel of his Range Rover.

D’Angelo’s real name is Michael Archer. He says in a statement that he pleaded not guilty and plans to fight the charge.

The statement says the singer hopes the public will “allow the American justice system to resolve the matter before jumping to any conclusions.”

Adrian Pasdar — who played Senator Nathan Petrelli on “Heroes” — has officially been charged with DUI following his arrest last month in L.A.

The 44-year-old actor — who’s married to Dixie Chicks singer Natalie Maines — was initially pulled over on January 27 after cops say they clocked him going 90 MPH on the 405 Freeway.

After conducting a field sobriety test, cops eventually arrested Pasdar and held him on $15,000 bail.

Pasdar is due back in court on February 24 and faces up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.

Tennis star Anna Kournikova’s mother has been arrested in Florida and charged with child neglect.

A Palm Beach police report says 46-year-old Alla Kournikova left her five-year-old son home alone while she ran errands Tuesday. Someone passing by the home found the boy and called police.

The boy told police he jumped out a second-storey window, but was not seriously injured.

Police said Alla Kournikova locked the home with a deadbolt and officers had to get inside through the second-storey window.

She was released from the Palm Beach County Jail after posting US$3,000 in bail.

Online records and the police report did not list a lawyer. A phone number listed for an Alla Kournikova in Palm Beach has been disconnected.

I don’t watch Smallville, but I recognize him from ER.  This is too bad.

‘Smallville’ star Sam Jones was arrested Wednesday morning after cops say he was part of a conspiracy to deal more than 10,000 pills of oxycodone, TMZ reports. Jones has been charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and if convicted faces up to 20 years in federal prison.

DEA agents who claim Jones was a “co-conspirator” in a series of major drug deals in 2008 took him into custody on Wednesday morning. Jones is due in federal court in L.A. on October 21.

Jones played Clark Kent’s best friend on the show ‘Smallville.’

Lori Petty, best known for her roles in Tank Girl and A League of Their Own, pleaded no contest last week to a misdemeanor DUI charge and will serve five years’ probation.

Petty, 45, was arrested last May after allegedly hitting a 14-year-old skateboarder while driving in Venice, Calif. The boy’s injuries were minor.

The actress will pay fines and receive outpatient treatment and attend AA meetings, according to Los Angeles Superior Court records. A second DUI charge was dismissed as part of Petty’s plea deal.

Petty did not attend the hearing, but was represented by her attorney, Blair Berk.

Burn Notice star Jeffrey Donovan might want to rethink his defense by the time he goes to court for his July 12 DUI case, as the reasoning, “I really think I’m only borderline and not too drunk” probably won’t get him too far.TMZ relates Jeffrey’s unique defense, outlined in a police report from Miami Beach PD. The arresting officer wrote he first noticed Jeffrey after he heard “a loud tire screech” behind him, and saw the actor’s car swerve to avoid hitting him. When he stopped, he told the cop, “Sorry, I didn’t see the red light or your stopped car.”

The officer smelled alcohol and asked Jeffrey if he’d been drinking.

“I had three drinks at the Fontainebleau,” Jeffrey responded, before failing a field sobriety test. As he was taken into custody he added another gem: “The only mistake I made tonight was drinking Benadryl with 3 glasses of wine.”
