This 12-step program can help Brit regain her throne.
by Farrah Weinstein
1. Don’t hang out with Paris Hilton
She might be fun to party with at a nightclub, but Britney will only encounter more drama by kicking it with “The Simple Life” star. Some old friends from Kentwood, Louisiana, might make better party pals, or even Christina Aguilera, who has come back from her own acting-out phase with class and a first-class album. “She should take advice from Christina,” Thomas said. “Christina is making good decisions as a businesswoman as well as an entertainer. Most importantly, her talent is coming across stronger than her personal life.”
2. Don’t chew gum or smoke in public
Perception counts for a lot where child-custody is concerned.
3. Do ditch the dollar-store extensions
The sophisticated blonde bob Brit rocked on “Letterman” was a glorious reminder of what a class act she can be.
4. Do show off musical talent
Gwen and Fergie moved into Brit’s turf while she was on maternity leave — here’s her chance to reclaim the throne. “I think she needs to get back to the old Britney we’ve known and loved since the beginning,” said Trent Vanegas, founder of Pink Is the New Blog. “She knows what the pulse of pop culture needs. And she can be a cool mom and still be relevant and sexy. Britney needs to say, ‘I took a break for a while — and now I’m back.’ Follow Gwen and Christina’s lead.”
5. Do update the Web site
It’s a direct line to fans — and we’re tired of that growling tiger.
6. Do get a publicist
Paris Hilton would be the first to admit that she’d be lost without constant companion/spinmaster Elliot Mintz.

Britney Spears‘ first husband, Jason Allen Alexander, is writing a tell-all book about their 55 hours of wedded bliss, and growing up with the star in Louisiana. And, in case you were wondering, it will cover their sex life (or, as he likes to call it, practicin’ makin’ critters).
“Britney knows about it,” he tells the British publication The Sun. “There are things in the book that will upset her… It does feature having sex with her and what that was like.”
Jason, 25, and Britney, 24, married in a Bring Your Own Midriff wedding ceremony in Las Vegas in January 2004 — and annulled the marriage less than three days later.
See more of his revelations below. Particularly entertaining is the part where he notes — without irony — that Spears married second husband Kevin Federline because he was simply “in the right place at the right time.”
On his feelings for Brit:
“I have always loved her and I always will. It’s best for everyone that Kevin and her have split. She is much more confident now.”
On her marriage to K-Fed:
“He’s just a lucky guy who was in the right place at the right time. When I married her I knew she was rich but I did love her. I wanted her. If she had stuck with me it would have been so positive.”
On Britney’s kids:
“I am really surprised at the speed at which they had kids — but it has always been a matter of time.”
On Britney’s plastic surgery:
“She had a tummy tuck after the birth of her second child. She’s working on all of that. She’s worth hundreds of millions — of course she looks good.”
A rep for Alexander tells Us,” It is a true interview. His claims are true as he knows them.”

Britney Spears has clearly gone off the rails after her split with K-Fed, and it’s time for an intervention. But who’s going to step in and stop this train wreck? Not a soul, sources tell TMZ.
The problem is, anyone who might be close enough to tell the 24-year-old Britney to get things in order (and put on some panties) is also on the Britster’s gravy train, so they don’t want to bite the hand that feeds them, we’re told. Her mother Lynne, who’s being supported by her daughter, has all but given up trying to get Brit to shape up and calm down, and can’t even get in touch with her. And her father Jamie has always stayed mainly in the shadows. What’s more, few people outside the family appear have much sway with Britney – except, by the look of things, Paris Hilton.
Believe it or not, it seems that the Fed-Ex may actually have been at least a steadying influence on Britney, even though he’s hardly a paragon of upright citizenship himself. Ultimately, says one source close to the family, “The only person that can stop Britney is Britney.”
