Angie tells Brad: Sleep on the couch!

Angelina Jolie

While Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt headed to France to work on their relationship — after all, it’s where they shacked up when Angie was expecting their twins, Knox and Vivienne — a Jolie-Pitt insider reveals that the couple’s retreat has gotten off to a very rough start. “Brad has been adamant that Angie spend time with the family and focus on them with as much passion and energy as she does all her projects,” the source explains to OK!.

However, “right after they got to France, Brad found a box of scripts that Angie had said she wanted to read. She and Brad got into a fight over it. Angie stormed out of the room and went into the bedroom.”

In fact, the Wanted star was so mad that she demanded Brad sleep on the couch! Angie walked away from the fight to keep the kids from witnessing it — Maddox, Pax and Shiloh were there while Zahara and the twins napped in another room — while Brad did his part to downplay the spat.

“He played video games with the boys all night and made breakfast for the family in the morning, including fresh grapefruit juice for Angie,” says the source. While reconciliation isn’t always easy, the two seem to be doing their best to make their kids feel that all is well, including taking Maddox and Pax to the pet store the next day, Aug. 20, to expand their brood with gerbils and goldfish.

Spencer Pratt wants to be the next Brad Pitt

Spencer Pratt & Brad Pitt

Could Spencer Pratt be the next Brad Pitt?

That’s what The Hills star is hoping!

In his new book, How to Be Famous, the reality star discusses his desire to be like the Inglourious Basterds actor.

What impresses him most?

How Pitt handled his 2005 divorce from Jennifer Aniston amidst an affair with Angelina Jolie.

“There literally is not another situation in the history of Hollywood where a man left a woman as beloved as Jennifer Aniston for someone like Angelina Jolie (a home-wrecking head case) and still ended up the good guy,” Pratt writes. “We salute you, Mr. Pitt!”

In the tome — which is being published by Grand Central Publishing and hits bookshelves in November — Pratt opens up about his eagerness to be the bad guy.

“If I weren’t me, I’d hate me,” he adds. “When you’re the villain, you don’t have to worry about how your enemy feels.”

Case in point: He bragged that he couldn’t have cared less that he was blamed for leak of nemesis Lauren Conrad’s alleged sex tape. He even said he made a point of telling every blog that the tape — which he claims was “beyond boring” — existed.

Brad Pitt calls Tom Cruise’s Nazi flick ‘ridiculous’

Brad Pitt

Ruh Roh Reorge!

As far as Brad Pitt is concerned, his new film Inglourious Basterds is the be all and end all of Nazi movies.

“The second World War could still deliver more stories and films, but I believe that Quentin [Tarantino, director] put a cover on that pot. With Basterds, everything than can be said to this genre has been said,” Pitt tells the German magazine Stern. “The film destroys every symbol. The work is done, end of story.”

As for another WWII Hitler assassination movie with a famous Hollywood star, he says there is no comparison. When the Stern reporter mentioned Tom Cruise’s recent turn in a film about a real plot to kill Hitler, Pitt simply said, “It was a ridiculous movie.”

Pitt also revealed what movie he does find note-worthy – even life-changing – Saturday Night Fever.

“When I was a teenager, I saw Saturday Night Fever at our drive-in, but it wasn’t the dancing that electrified me. It was the life and culture in Brooklyn. I’m from Missouri, the southern part of the Midwest in the U.S., and I never heard families talk that way to each other. From that point on, I wanted out to see more of the country and of life.”

Have you seen Inglourious Basterds yet? If so, how was it?

Pitt calls Cruise’s Nazi film ‘ridiculous’

I agree Brad, it was ridiculous! I turned Valkyrie off, about 20 minutes in.

Quentin Tarantino Defends ‘Inglourious Basterds’ And Its Length

inglourious-basterds-1.jpg

Quentin Tarantino’s latest film is already dividing critics and will surely divide audiences too. Inglourious Basterds looks like Brad Pitt in a World War II romp. Don’t be surprised if you spend a lot of the time with two German characters played by actors you don’t know.

“To me the film has three leads,” Tarantino said. “It has Aldo, Shoshanna and Lando. Even the structure of the movie, the first three chapters are setting up these leads. Then, chapter four and five is okay, now the adventure begins. The other aspect though is you can say that everybody in this movie is an inglourious basterd. Doesn’t just have to mean the one little group.”

That said, the group of Jewish Nazi killers that Pitt leads are basically background players. “If you consider the Basterds the six other guys in the background, yeah, they become incidental to the actual mission themselves once the story gets going on.”

Brad Pittto play a superhero for his kids’ sake

Brad Pitt

In his current movie opening Friday, Quentin Tarantino’s R-rated WWII movie Inglourious Basterds, Brad Pitt plays a southern lieutenant whose squadron, among other bloody deeds, scalps Nazis.

“Yeah,” Pitt, 45, confirmed to interviewer Ann Curry on Tuesday’s Today show, “people lose some hair.”

When Curry counters that Pitt – the father of six – ought to make a kids movie, the leading man steps forward with the announcement that he is doing just that, by providing the voice for an animated feature in which he’ll play a “superhero who wants out.”

Pitt says that movie will costar the voices of Tina Fey and Robert Downey Jr., and trade reports identify the project as Oobermind, from DreamWorks Animation and Madagascar co-director Tim McGrath. An update since the Pitt-Curry sit-down also indicates that Will Ferrell has replaced Robert Downey Jr.

The movie, now in post-production for a November 2010 release, reportedly opens with Pitt, as the super heroic Metro Man, being accidentally killed by the super villain Oobermind (Ferrell), who has a change of heart about being bad and so creates a new hero, Titan (Jonah Hill) – much to the confusion of a local newscaster (Fey).

It’s not autobiographical, Pitt told Curry, who inquired if he might be doing the movie in order to appear heroic to his and Angelina Jolie’s children: Maddox, 8; Pax, 5; Zahara, 4; Shiloh, 3; and twins Knox and Vivienne, 1.

“It’s just something they’ll enjoy,” he responded, “and that’s cool.”

Brad Pitt not joining ‘Sherlock Holmes’

Brad Pitt

Brad Pitt won’t be joining the cast of Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes after all.

London’s Daily Mirror reported that he is set to arrive in London this week to begin filming scenes as Holmes’ nemesis Moriarty. He is expected to shoot all over the city, including the Royal Victoria Dock, Pontoon Docks, Pinewood and Chatham Docks in Kent, the paper claimed.

Ritchie - who last worked with Pitt in 2000’s Snatch - decided to add Pitt to the cast, which includes Robert Downey Jr as Holmes and Jude Law as Dr. Watson - after seeing the first edit, according to the report.

But a studio rep tells Us: “The report in today’s London Mirror is completely inaccurate. Brad Pitt is not joining the cast of Sherlock Holmes and we’re extremely pleased with the production of the film. As planned, it will be released on Christmas Day, 2009. In order to complete the movie, we’ve scheduled a few days on set to shoot a couple of additional scenes, obtain pick-up shots, and perfect some of the visual effects elements, all of which is standard filmmaking practice.”
