The “Gossip Girl” actress has ditched her famous blond locks for red hair – and debuted her new look at Time’s 100 Most Influential People In The World gala on Tuesday, Apr. 26. She paired her new hair with a gorgeous Zuhair Murad dress.
Blake Lively — the new face of Chanel handbags — arrived on the red carpet sporting strawberry-tinged locks. “It’s for the film Hick,” Lively told PEOPLE. “I thought [my character] needed red hair. It helps when you’re playing a role, when I don’t feel like myself. And I don’t really feel like myself with red hair.” Colorist Rona O’Connor transformed Lively’s locks about a month ago, however, the actress managed to fly under the radar following her last public appearance at CinemaCon in early April. So how does she like her new look? “I love it,” she gushed. “I feel like Ariel.”
What do you think of Blake as a redhead?

At a dinner in her honor, Blake Lively said her mother was the one who helped shape her own fashion sensibilities.
Lively, the new face of Chanel’s “Mademoiselle” handbag, was honored at a Chanel dinner on Wednesday night.
The 23-year-old “Gossip Girl” star said her mother was a model, so she was always exposed to beautiful clothes. Her mother would also make clothes, so she would go with her mother to buy fabrics.
Lively said confidence is the key to making an outfit work, and even if critics may not like her choice in apparel, she said as long as she is being herself, she loves it.
Lively plays the role of Serena van der Woodsen on CW’s “Gossip Girl” and has been in movies like “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” and “The Town.”

A new rumor is spreading online today, one that sounds intriguing! According to Grazia, Blake Lively is being considered to play a young Carrie Bradshaw in a prequel to the role Sarah Jessica Parker made famous.
Studio bosses are in talks to fill the glamour void with a prequel film, following the success of Candace Bushnell’s bestselling book The Carrie Diaries, about the teenage years of her heroine.
Candace has just finished a second novel called Summer And The City, which takes up where Diaries left off and follows 19-year-old Carrie’s move from Connecticut to NYC.
SATC producer Michael Patrick King has already expressed interest in adapting the book for the big screen – and he wants Blake Lively to play the young Carrie.
“There are no plans to bring SJP and the other girls back together in the old format,” says an insider. “The prequel is about breathing new life into the story and exploring Carrie’s first few months in NYC and the beginning of her relationship with an older man.”
What do you think about Blake playing Carrie? Love it or hate it?
Wonder what SJP will have to say about this!
