Angelina Jolie and her ex-husband Billy Bob Thornton are obviously on really good terms. Earlier this year it was reported that Billy Bob was writing a memoir, and Angelina Jolie had written the forward to it.

It’s been 10 years since the couple divorced, but the two remain good friends. In Billy’s new book, ‘The Billy Bob Tapes: A Cave Full of Ghosts’, Angelina says her former partner “has a big beautiful heart.”

Life & Style has gotten their hands on the forward, and here is an excerpt:

“He has an unmatchable wit and can make you laugh until your face hurts,” Angie writes.

The 36-year-old actress, who got engaged to partner of seven years Brad Pitt in April, gives even more details about Billy Bob’s personality.

“To be with him is like being with a mad mathematician,” she adds. “He is constantly counting and repeating.”

Along with talking about the things the 56-year-old actor loves and dislikes, Angie admits the world, and she herself, would not be the same without him around.

“Some people walk through life able to quiet the voices in their heads. He can’t. And I, and everyone else who knows him well, we love him for it,” she says, ending with, “I know one thing: The world would certainly be a hell of a lot more dull if that man weren’t in it.”

Billy recently opened up about his marriage to Angie, calling the failure of their relationship his fault.

“I blew it because I didn’t think I was good enough for her,” he said. “She has one way she wanted to live her life and I had another way to live mine, and I was just too insecure.”

Billy Bob Thornton and Angie Jolie, who co-starred in the 1999 film Pushing Tin, married in 2000 and were divorced in 2003.

So many people ran with this story saying the couple were obviously still doing each other – but I’m not buying that.

Last week the National Enquirer ran a story that Brad Pitt was “crying” over the fact that Angelina was planning on reconnecting with Billy Bob. Personally, I don’t buy it – but who knows. Angelina still has some feelings for Billy Bob at least in a friendly way, because she’s just written the forward to his new memoir!

No bad blood — or blood vials — here! Angelina Jolie has written the foreword to ex-husband Billy Bob Thornton’s new memoir, The Billy Bob Tapes: A Cave Full of Ghosts, a rep for the book’s publisher, HarperCollins, confirms to Us Weekly.

Jolie, 36, and Thornton, 56, were married from 2000 to 2003; during their intense, sometimes odd union, the couple famously wore vials of one another’s blood around their necks. Jolie and Brad Pitt have been together (but not married) since 2005. Married five times overall, Thornton and makeup artist Connie Angland have been in a relationship since 2003.

“We talk every now and then,” the Faster actor said in late 2010 of Jolie. “She seems to be doing very well directing her own movie [In the Land of Blood and Honey], which I am so proud of her for. She’s real smart, and very creative, and I think it’s a great job for her.”

Cowritten with country music singer and author Kinky Friedman, The Billy Bob Tapes promises to tell, according to book description info on Amazon, “colorful tales of his modest (to say the least) Southern upbringing, his bizarre phobias (komodo dragons?), his life, his loves (including his heartbreakingly brief marriage to fellow Oscar winner Angelina Jolie), and, of course, his movie career.”

I forget that they were actually married! His book would be incredibly interesting, I bet. And we know he can write! He wrote Oscar-nominated A Simple Plan and much-loved Sling Blade.

Actor Billy Bob Thornton‘s daughter Amanda Brumfield has been found guilty in Orlando, Flor., for aggravated manslaughter of a 1-year-old girl. The 32-year-old woman has been estranged from her father, and is scheduled to be sentenced in July.

The Orlando Sentinel reports that Amanda was tried in the same courthouse and the highly publicized Casey Anthony trial, where a mother is accused of killing her 2-year-old daughter:

“In contrast to the more high-profile Casey Anthony trial, expected to drag on for months in a courtroom 13 floors above it, the Brumfield trial took less than a week.”

In Amanda’s case, the prosecutors claimed that she killed the young girl, her best friend’s daughter, while babysitting in 2008. Amanda has alwsays claimed that the child hit her head after climbing out of her playpen. Prosecutors vehemently disagreed, saying that a fall from such a short height wouldn’t have caused the swelling on her brain and the severe, three-and-a-half inch fracture on the back of her head.

Even though they parted ways in 2003, it’s been revealed that Angelina Jolie still talks to her ex-husband Billy Bob Thornton! I wonder how Brad feels about that one?!??

Billy Bob recently admitted that he still keeps in touch with Angelina. He said, “We talk every now and then. She seems to be doing very well directing her own movie, which I am so proud of her for.”

Not that Jolie’s directorial debut didn’t have its setbacks: in October, the Bosnian government temporarily banned her from filming because no screenplay was attached to the application, as required by law.

And though the movie hasn’t been released yet, Jolie has already earned Thornton’s stamp of approval.

“I always thought she should do that, writing and directing,” Thornton said. “She’s real smart, and very creative, and I think it’s a great job for her.”

Billy Bob Thornton’s estranged daughter, Amanda Brumfield, has been charged with first degree murder, aggravated child abuse and aggravated manslaughter of a one-year-old girl who died under her care, TMZ reports.

The woman told cops in October that the little girl died after a fall from her playpen, but now detectives say that story doesn’t work with the child’s injuries. According to an autopsy, the girl suffered a fractured skull and a subdural hematoma due to blunt trauma.

Billy Bob’s publicist told TMZ when the story first hit the news that the two haven’t spoken for “quite some time.”

Billy Bob Thornton tried to explain his crazy Canadian radio interview to Jimmy Kimmel Tuesday night.

“The fact that that was news was astounding to me, but it gave hump back geeks all over the world something to do for a couple days days… I do that all the time!” Thornton said. “It’s not the first time….”

Continued Thornton: “This woman said something she wasn’t supposed to say, and I said I received signals from Venus through a metal plate in my head…I told a DJ to kiss my ass, that’s all that happened.”

Earlier this month, the actor-turned-singer, 53 became belligerent during a radio interview when asked about his Hollywood career. The next day, he was booed while performing with his band, the Boxmasters, the opening act for Willie Nelson.

The band canceled their Canadian tour a few nights later “due to one band member and several of the crew having the flu.”
