Spoiler-ish Big Brother info ahead! (more…)

Nick Starcevic, super hunk from Big Brother 8 and his in-house whore Daniele Donato are… well… broken up. How wonderfully predictable is that!
It seems that perhaps America’s sweetheart Janelle Pierzina had something to do with it all. Janelle had recently been posting a plethora of comments on Nick’s MySpace including the following:
“Everyone my feelings about Nick and Dani is none of our business what has happened or what has not happened. Do not forget Dani is a private person and I can relate. Nick I wish you the best in CA. Once again your pictures are great!!!”
Can’t really say that nobody saw this coming given Daniele’s track record and the fact that she cheated on her boyfriend of two years on national television. I’d pick Jani over Dani anyday!
Now it appears that given all this scandal Nick is deleting his MySpace… now how am I going to lurk him?
But the drama doesn’t end there. Guess who Nick is rumored to be dating now… (more…)

Big Brother fans, prepare to celebrate the Writers Guild strike. A reliable source says CBS is quietly ramping up production on a ninth cycle of the reality show to begin airing in late January or early February if the strike persists well into the holidays. It’s easy for CBS to fire up production on BB because it owns the house (which is located on the network’s Studio City, CA lot) and it casts for the show year-round. We hear executive producer Allison Grodner is already hiring production staff and, of course, Julie “Chenbot” Chen would return as host. A CBS spokesperson declined comment.
Like seasons past, the network would probably air the show thrice-weekly, although there’s always the possibility of adding more nights since action occurs around-the-clock in the BB house. Last summer, fans demonstrated their desire to watch even more of the house happenings by tuning into to Big Brother: After Dark on Showtime. It’s unclear whether the nightly feeds will resume with this new cycle, though it seems likely. If the midseason BB does go forward, it is unlikely to affect the regular summer run of the show.
I’d rather watch Big Brother - HANDS DOWN! Bring it on!!

I’ve been dying to know all day who is winning the HOH competitions in the Big Brother house, so I did some searching today and found out! There are 3 parts to the competition - I have the first 2 winners…if you’re interested! If you want to know (SPOILER) click on MORE! (more…)
First off…was last night’s BB not the most intense one you’ve ever seen? The clip below definitely takes the cake! Were you just waiting for Dick to explode when he found his cigarettes had been destroyed? Well he DID and CBS must not have had time to show it all! The clip below is 7:51 minutes long…and is FULL of swearing, so keep your speakers on low!
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: How did you get cast on Big Brother?
JEN: [Pause] Uh…
Did you apply? Did someone approach you?
[Pause] Um, I think that I was recommended by somebody for the show. [Laughs] I’m not quite sure.
Why did you want to do it?
I’m always up for trying new things and the opportunity came for me to try it out, so I thought that it would be a cool thing to do, and an experience that I’ll have for a lifetime, and that I’ll be able to learn things about others and myself. Why not? I’m always up for having some fun.
Do you hope to have an acting career?
Um, I did before the show — I’m not sure if the show, um, I don’t know if the show helps or hurts you… I don’t know. We’ll see… I’m still pursuing it.
Do you have an agent?
I have a modeling agent, so I’ll have to get an acting agent.
You’re friends with Dr. Will?
I’m not friends with Dr. Will — I’m friends with Boogie.
Did Boogie give you advice before you went in the house?
He didn’t. I actually know him from a mutual friend of ours… I had just actually hung out with him a couple of times out in the Bahamas right before I had even known I was going to be on the show. I would have [asked him for advice]. Obviously their strategies worked all right. But it’s not me how they did it anyways, so that’s okay.
Are you going to the sequester house?
I am.
You don’t sound happy about that.
At first I wasn’t happy about it, but now that I’m here I’m happier about it. And it’ll be a weaning period for me, because I think if I got thrown into my home life right now it might be a little weird, after being in the house for 55 days.
Did you try to get out of going?
No. I said I wasn’t going to go, but I never tried… I really didn’t want to go when I said it. I wasn’t, like, making it up. I really was like, ”I wanna go home!” But I think it’ll be fun, and after seeing people while doing interviews and seeing everyone after I got out, it was like, ”Oh my gosh — all these people!” So I’m kind of happy to let it die down a little and go to a peaceful place for a little bit. I’m going to learn some Spanish on my iPod.
Is it in Mexico?
No. I don’t know where the sequester house is, but no, I don’t think so.
Dick said really disgusting things to you but it seemed that he was never penalized. Do you think that was fair?
Um, no, I don’t think that it was fair. I think that it obviously made good television and that’s why it was used. I don’t know what to say is fair, I’m definitely normally a fair person — I do think Dick crossed the line several times with physical [acts] and with his words.
Did he touch you?
No — I mean, like, just really up close and personal and in my face. I don’t think that it was right, and I prefer not to ever have to be cast with anyone or know anyone like that again.
You were spotted reading the BB rule book — were you looking for rules that said he should be penalized or ejected?
No, that’s Dick’s theory. I actually was really bored in the Big Brother house, believe it or not, and I found reading the Big Brother rules, the Bowflex manual, the Bible, whatever I could get my hands on, was entertaining.
MUCH MORE OF THE INTERVIEW AFTER THE JUMP! (more…)

I freaking love Big Brother - and this season has been so good!
Entertainment Weekly recently interviewed BB executive producer Allison Grodner about Big Brother 8:
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Anyone who watched Big Brother: After Dark this week saw how Jen went off slop to eat burgers and cottage cheese. Why did you penalize her? (Jen’s punishment will be revealed on tonight’s show.)
ALLISON GRODNER: We always reserve the right to give penalty nominations when rules are broken that are not safety violations or something so extreme that you should be ejected. But this was unprecedented [someone who was already nominated breaking a rule].
Why not give her a penalty nomination next week?
At this point, our feeling is that the offender should be penalized within the week the offense took place. So this is a new way of dealing with rule violations by the nominees themselves.
Have you thought about changing the rules to avoid back-dooring (targeting a replacement nominee for eviction)? It really puts strong players at a disadvantage.
It’s possible. One of the adjustments that was made last year was the random drawing of ping-pong balls [to choose players for the veto competition]. That encouraged people from back-dooring. This year, people just seem to be getting lucky in terms of the ping-pong balls! It’s hard to say how much we’ll change. Nakomis coming up with the whole six-finger plan back in BB5 was genius. These people are playing like that and we’ve had more HOHs change their mind [about who should be on the chopping block] midway through the week than we’ve ever had before — though I don’t think it was always their intent to back-door somebody.
What about making the rule that if you win the veto, you can only use it to save yourself?
I feel like that takes some of the strategy out of the game. People have alliances and friends in the house. This is what is so interesting about the veto — what happens if you use it or don’t use it if you aren’t on the block. We wouldn’t have had Jameka saving Jen, or Dick saving Daniele — another thing that’s unprecedented about this season.
Was Jen admonished for destroying Dick’s cigarettes?
There is a rule about destroying personal property in the house. It would be a big mess [if allowed to continue], so we have to have some rules to prevent all hell from breaking loose.
But how do you justify admonishing Jen when her shirt was vandalized with mustard?
Obviously it was an America’s Player situation [Eric was told to do it]. She was able to wash it and it was fine. If that had been a situation in the house, we probably would have admonished the person who did it. But Jen doesn’t know who did it!
Jen was contending that she was admonished for destroying Dick’s cigarettes, yet Dick was never admonished for his foul behavior toward her. Is that true?
That’s not necessarily true. By the way, we don’t discuss who is admonished and so forth in the Diary Room. But I will tell you as an overall note that when people are close to crossing the line in terms of violence in the house, they are warned. Jen doesn’t necessarily know [what, if anything, happened to Dick]. They don’t know what happened with her with regards to the cigarettes. We don’t discuss people’s Diary Room visits with the other houseguests.
