Hollywood couple Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner are to serve as honorary hosts at a September gala aimed at raising funds for the actress’ hometown university in West Virginia.
Officials at the University of Charleston hope people will flock to see the Daredevil stars and help them to raise cash for a new athletics complex, which will house the school’s basketball and volleyball programs.
Ben Affleck showed he’s all heart when he helped comfort a sobbing motorist who rear ended his pal’s sports utility vehicle.
Affleck was a passenger in the vehicle that was shunted in Washington, D.C. recently and he used his famous charm to help calm the other driver down when she burst into tears after the accident.
The unnamed woman tells The Globe that the driver of Affleck’s car insisted she follow him to a nearby turn-off, so they could exchange insurance details. And that’s when she realised the passenger was a movie star.
The woman says, “He’s even better-looking in person, and so, so sweet. “His parting words were, ‘Take care of yourself, and take care of that car. Don’t cry anymore, it’s all right.’”
