James Brolin And Barbra Streisand Are Not Divorcing

Despite what you may have heard about the marriage between James Brolin and Barbra Streisand, things are still going strong. Reportedly, the happy couple were going through a divorce. Now, they are coming out swinging in the pages of the latest issue of Closer magazine.

From the cover:

Hollywood’s enduring couple set the record straight on divorce rumors and why their commitment is stronger than ever: “We work at our marriage every day”, shares Barbra.

Of course they work at it every day, what marriage could survive without the hard work that necessitates that effort?

When the rumors were making their way across the internet, it was said that James was the one who wanted out of their marriage. He supposedly claimed that Barbra treated him like a second rate citizen and he had enough!

This is all true, if you believe the National Enquirer’s reports on the situation….which are obviously BS. Take our word for it…and Kirstie Alley’s.

Barbara Streisand Turns 70

And of course, Barbara Streisand does birthdays in style!

The songstress got well-wishes on Tuesday from the likes of John Travolta, Steven Spielberg, Pierce Brosnan, Kenny G, Warren Beatty, Diane Lane, and Josh Brolin, Perez Hilton reports.

Streisand says,

It was a magical event with only very close friends, people I’ve known and loved more than 20 years. The highlight of the evening was my son’s film that he made for me. People kept asking, ‘Who is that singing?’ And when I said it was Jason, everyone was blown away by the beauty and soulfulness of his voice. Quincy Jones wanted to sign him on the spot.

My friends made it an evening of surprises for me, flying in the remarkable Israeli mentalist Lior Suchard and gifting me with the performance of my favorite singer, Johnny Mathis, and many, many more highlights.

Aw!  Sounds perfect and very BARBARA!

Barbra Streisand to McCain: ‘Women are not that stupid’

Barbra Streisand

Film and music star Barbra Streisand is candidly speaking her mind about GOP presidential nominee John McCain!

The Oscar-winning Streisand posted a blog on her website entitled, “McCain Doesn’t Get It: Women are not that stupid,” in which she blasts McCain for his VP pick Sarah Palin.

Streisand writes: “I believe John McCain chose Gov. Palin because he truly believes that women who supported Hillary [Clinton] — an experienced, brilliant, life-long public servant–would vote for him because his Vice President has two x chromosomes. McCain’s selection of Governor Palin is a transparent and irresponsible decision all in the name of trying to win this election.”

In another blog posting entitled, “Meet The REAL John McCain,” Streisand lists information that she says reveals where McCain truly stands on the important election issues — women, the environment, education and civil liberties.

As ET revealed, Streisand is scheduled to perform at a benefit for Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama Tuesday night in Beverly Hills.

The event will open with a reception and dinner that will cost attendees $28,500 a person, followed by a later event with Streisand at $2,500 a ticket, says the Associated Press.

Barbara Streisand donates $5 million to a health program at Cedars-Sinai

Barbara Streisand

Barbara Streisand has stunned staff at Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Medical Center by donating $5 million to a new health program.

The singer has launched the Barbra Streisand Women’s Cardiovascular Research and Education Program, which will fund research and education at the famous hospital.

Streisand says, “Women need to be educated about female cardiovascular disease, and the medical community must be propelled toward change. Just like with breast cancer, the impetus must come from women themselves, striving to become empowered to reduce their risks for heart disease.”
