The Backstreet Boys really enjoyed Nick Carter’s wedding…

nick carter

Nick Carter married girlfriend Lauren Kitt last weekend in Santa Barbara, and his Backstreet Boys bandmates were there to join in the festivities, which is pretty sweet. They seemed to have a good time, as well!

A.J. McLean says the Santa Barbara wedding on Saturday was “beautiful, rustic” and “very small.”

“It was bittersweet,” McLean tells PEOPLE. “We’re so, so proud of him. He’s been through hell and back as we all have, once in our life here or there.”

“And you know, we’re all family. We’re all brothers,” he says. “To see our little baby brother finally make that big, big final step. Next step is having kids. Obviously they just got married, so obviously take your time.”

“Enjoy your time together first,” Brian Littrell adds.

Aw, I think it’s nice the guys are still friends after all this time! Unfortunately, I’m sure this whole thing is a little heartbreaking for the ladies. Sorry, girls – Nick’s off the market!

Backstreet Boys Reunite After 6 Years

Sorry, New Kids on the Block fans, it’s only the Backstreet Boys who are reuniting!

Yep, you heard me.  For the first time in 6 years, Brian Littrell, Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, A.J. McLean and Kevin Richardson, reunited to perform some hits today on Good Morning America.

And they’re back again!  The group is currently working on its fifth studio album, which they’ll release with Kevin Richardson, 40.  Richardson left the band in 2006, to leave Littrell, 37, Carter, 32, Dorough, 38, and McLean, 34 to fend for themselves in a music scene that became less and less welcome to boy band groups.  The Backstreet Boys- now middle-aged men- sung “Larger Than Life,” “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back), “Incomplete” and “I Want It That Way” for a massive NYC audience on the show this morning.

“We definitely have some of the best fans in the world, that’s for sure,” Carter told Good Morning America anchor Lara Spencer. “It’s like we never stopped-and now we’ve got Kev back, so now Backstreet’s back.”

Aw!  But that’s not all- to commemorate the group’s 20 years of music making,  in October of 2013, the group will headline a Backstreet Boys CRUISE!  I bet many women would easily book a ticket on that one…I would, just to hear “I want it that way,” while sipping a mojito poolside.

Would you go on the Backstreet Cruise?!

Backstreet Boy Brian Littrell’s Son Diagnosed with Artery Disease

After being hospitalized last Friday, Backstreet Boys singer Brian Littrell’s 6-year-old son has been diagnosed with A-Typical Kawasaki Disease, an inflammation of the arteries that typically afflicts children.

In a post on his official Web site, the musician confirms the diagnosis, and says that his son, Baylee, was released from Atlanta’s Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital on Saturday.

Littrell, 33, and his wife Leighanne, 39, say that support from fans has been pouring in during the difficult family time.

“We want to thank every one who prayed for us as well as all of the emails and phone calls,” Littrell writes on his Web site. “Your love and support means so much to our family. … We are humbled by the love and compassion that people have for our son all over the world, thank you!”

According to the American Heart Association, Kawasaki Disease can inflame and weaken coronary arteries, creating the risk of blood clots that can cause heart attacks. It mostly afflicts children under the age of 5, and primarily boys. About 4,000 cases are diagnosed annually in the United States, and only 1 percent are fatal.

“Baylee was finally diagnosed with A-Typical Kawasaki Disease,” says Littrell’s post. “We would like to stress A-Typical because Baylee did not have textbook symptoms of any of the viruses they thought he had.”

With his coronary arteries affected by the disase, “He received an IVIG, which is a treatment to bring down the inflammation in his coronary arteries,” says the post. “Baylee will be closely monitored for the next 6-8 weeks by a Pediatric Cardiologist to see if the treatment was effective,” Littrell writes.

Although Kawasaki Disease is not believed to be hereditary, Brian, himself, has battled coronary disease, undergoing open-heart surgery 10 years ago to correct a congenital problem. He has formed a charity, the Brian Littrell Healthy Heart Club for Kids, to “educate children and their families regarding the benefits of adopting a heart-healthy lifestyle.”

A.J. McLean doesn’t like camera phones

A.J. McLean

Backstreet Boys singer A.J. McLean has blasted advances in technology – because cameraphones mean no celebrity can ever really ‘let go’.

The singer insists stars are easy prey for members of the public who film their exploits – and insists cameraphones make everyone a moving target for ridicule.

He says, “You think you are having a good time with somebody and the next thing you know you’re on YouTube.
“Technology has spoiled it for everybody.”

I love this picture, btw, doesn’t he look like he’s doing some weird Karate Kid impression or something?
