Britney Spears already has her famous family of fragrances, and Christina Aguilera will launch her first American scent soon — and now it looks like pop’s edgier princess is getting in on the fragrance game too. Avril Lavigne has just confirmed to WWD that she’s inked a deal with Proctor & Gamble Prestige Products to create a perfume line directed at her teen fans.
“Creating this fragrance is a fun process and I am looking forward to sharing it with everyone,” she tells the paper. And while there’s no official launch date yet, the fragrance is expected to hit stores sometime during the second half of 2009.
Will you wear Avril’s scent?

Illness has forced Canadian singer Avril Lavigne to pull out of six dates of the US leg of her worldwide tour.
The 23-year-old has cancelled six concerts from The Best Damn Tour due to acute laryngitis.
Four shows in California – Anaheim, Universal City, Santa Barbara and San Jose – and two in Washington – Everett and Spokane – have been dropped.
A message on the singer’s website said refunds would be available from point of purchase from Monday onwards.
Avril had already canceled shows in Phoenix and San Diego due to illness.
“My sincerest apologies to all of my fans,” she said on her official website.
“My intention was to complete the rest of the tour but tonight at sound check in Anaheim I realised this wasn’t possible. Even though I have been resting my voice for days, when I tried to sing nothing came out.”
She went on to say: “I have never canceled a show in my whole career and just had to for the first time ever. This sux [sic]!”
Avril is next due to perform in Glasgow on May 26th as the UK-leg of her tour begins.

Avril Lavigne had to cancel a show recently, much to the dismay of her fans.
She has taken to her Myspace blog to apologize:
“Hey Guys,
I am at home right now taking it easy. I have been sick this whole tour, and now I have lost my voice. I have never canceled a show in my whole career and just had to for the first time ever. This sux!
I am so sorry! I have been on the road for 60 days straight. I have had the flu 3 times and I never get sick, it just keeps going around. I think I am just run down. I just played 4 shows in a row in Texas (which is a lot for the vocals) and woke up in Vegas Tuesday with no voice. I thought I was gonna have to cancel that show, but I made it through…..barely! I still went on stage in Vegas and gave it my all, but unfortunately its interfering with my throat now. I had to eliminate songs.
I woke up yesterday and knew I wouldn’t be able to sing last night. My voice is so shot. We drove home yesterday and I went to my throat doctor. He stuck a camera down my throat….ewwww, I gagged!!! It was kinda funny though…..he said I have “Acute Laryngitis”.
So, um, yeah, that sux. I was supposed to play a show in San Diego yesterday and was supposed to perform on Jay Leno tomorrow and go live with Ryan Seacrest in the today, but I had to cancel that too. I’m at home resting my voice for 2 days and hope to be back out soon. Thank you for understanding. And once again, I sincerely apologize.
Avril”

Fans of Avril Lavigne were left fuming on Wednesday evening when they arrived at the singer’s Cox Arena show in San Diego, California only to find the pop star had quietly cancelled the concert.
The Sk8ter Boi hitmaker, whose U.S. tour has been plagued by poor ticket sales, called in sick earlier in the day with laryngitis, prompting promoters to cancel the gig.
But Lavigne’s management and the promoters failed to let fans know, prompting thousands to make the journey to San Diego only to find the concert had been cancelled.
One angry mom told Wenn, “Most of Avril’s fans are young girls, who had to travel quite a distance to get to the show.
“With gas prices what they are, you would have thought that someone would have alerted the local media and radio stations, so that everyone knew the concert was cancelled.”
The singer has posted a statement on her official website apologizing to fans and declaring a rescheduled performance will be announced in due course.

Pop star Avril Lavigne is so unimpressed with the current crop of celebrity magazines, she wants to create her own scandal-free version.
The singer claims today’s publications are too negative, and she could do a much better job. Lavigne tells the New York Daily News, “I would make it completely positive. “There’s so much negativity right now. I’d pick up the big stories, but they’d have to be positive.”
