Charlie Sheen releases statement: “Enjoy the show America. Enjoy seeing a 2.0 in the demo every Monday”

Charlie Sheen has something to say about Ashton Kutcher taking his seat over at ‘Two and a Half Men’, and it’s quite to the point!

Charlie tells TMZ, “Kutcher is a sweetheart and a brilliant comedic performer … Oh wait, so am I!!”

Charlie continues, taking a shot at the show, saying, “Enjoy the show America. Enjoy seeing a 2.0 in the demo every Monday, WB.” Essentially, Charlie is saying the age group that supported him is going to tune out.

Charlie adds, “Enjoy planet Chuck, Ashton. There is no air, laughter, loyalty, or love there.” Of course, Charlie is referring to his nemesis, “Men” creator and Executive Producer Chuck Lorre.

Been reading a lot of articles this morning on what people think of Ashton Kutcher taking over for Charlie Sheen, and the feelings are mixed.  Will Ashton be able to do it? Can he pull it off? Will the show last?

Ashton Kutcher has officially signed on for ‘Two and a Half Men’ – and he’ll be making half of what Charlie did!

Ashton Kutcher has officially signed on to “Two and a Half Men” , and according to TMZ, he’ll be making … and TMZ has learned he’ll be making more than half of Charlie Sheen‘s base salary.

Apparently Charlie Sheen’s base pay on the show was $1.25 million per episode. Ashton will earn somewhere between $625,000 and $900,000 per episode.

PAUSE: Can you believe Charlie was making $1.25 million PER episode? Rumor has it – he was making nearly $2 million per episode after his profit participation. Can you believe Charlie left all that?!

TMZ has learned, CBS honcho Les Moonves has already signed off and he will announce the show is coming back for Season 9.

And sources say the remaining cast — including Jon Cryer and Angus T. Jones — will be coming back.

We’re told Ashton spent time with creator and Executive Producer Chuck Lorre and the two got along great — something that was essential for Lorre, who was at war with Charlie.

Ashton will NOT be playing the Charlie Harper character. He’ll be playing someone new, who comes into “Men” Malibu house.

SOURCES CONFIRM: Ashton Kutcher WILL JOIN ‘Two and a Half Men’

Wow! I think this is great news! The best work Ashton Kutcher ever did was on TV, so I think it’s awesome he’s returning to the small screen! I have to admit, I’ll definitely tune in!

This just in from The Hollywood Reporter:

Ashton Kutcher appears to have won the Two and a Half Men sweepstakes.

Two sources close to the deal-making tell The Hollywood Reporter that the actor is putting the final touches on a deal to replace Charlie Sheen as the star of TV’s No. 1 comedy. CBS, studio Warner Bros. and Kutcher’s reps at CAA declined to comment on the situation but a deal is said to be all but signed. The exact dollar figure he will be paid is not known but a source says Kutcher is getting a “huge payday” to join the hit sitcom.

The deal came together quickly in the wake of Hugh Grant passing on the opportunity to join the show. Now sources say Men creator Chuck Lorre has crafted a storyline to introduce Kutcher in a way that satisfies the network and studio. “It’s really funny,” says one source. “People are going to love it.”

Broadcasting & Cable reported Thursday that Kutcher’s name was surfacing as a possible Sheen replacement. The actor, who starred in the winter hit No Strings Attached, would be taking first regular series gig since catapulting to stardom on Fox’s That 70’s Show. He also executive produced the hit MTV hidden-camera series Punk’d, among others.

Kutcher brings a youthful fan base to the CBS show, as well as a big online profile with 6.7 Twitter followers, which could help CBS promote the show.

“Chuck’s really happy,” another source says.

For his part, Kutcher is remaining silent except for a cryptic message he wrote on Twitter: “I’m starting to become convinced that people put my name in articles just to improve their SEO or hoping I’ll tweet it.”

Ashton Kutcher latest celebrity in talks to take over for Charlie Sheen in ‘Two and a Half Men’!

Yesterday, rumor had it that Hugh Grant was seriously considering taking over for Charlie Sheen in ‘Two and a Half Men’ after it was reported that he had been offered $1 million per episode!

Today, according to EW, Ashton Kutcher is also being courted!

Kutcher is the latest rumored name to surface as a possible new star of CBS’ Two and a Half Men, says trade publication B&C. CBS and Warner Bros. are hustling to find a suitable big-name comedic star to replace Sheen since the clock is ticking until the network’s upfront presentation to advertisers next week. If Kutcher lands the role, it would mark his return to the sitcom world where he first broke through on That ’70s Show. Hugh Grant was in talks for the role, and he could have been a great choice, but the Brit dropped out. WB, huddled in meetings readying for the upfronts, had no comment.

Who would you like to see take over for Charlie?

Awkward or Awesome: Ashton Kutcher’s “Real Men Don’t Buy Girls” Video

When I watched this video, my first thought was – this video is just plain awkward. Ashton Kutcher, who co-founded The Demi and Ashton Foundation with wife Demi Moore, has made it his goal to educate the public about child sex slavery in the United States.

After watching a Dateline feature on sex-trafficking, he and wife Demi Moore created a foundation to help put an end to sex-slavery in the US.

I was watching six and seven-year-old girls being raped for profit,” Kutcher says. “I said to myself: I don’t want to live in a world where these things are happening and I’m not doing anything about them.”

Moore and Kutcher began researching the issue further, and discovered that, in the United States alone, between 100,000 and 300,000 girls are enslaved and sold for sex, while upwards of a million girls are prostituted worldwide. The entire industry generates $39 billion annually.

“The average age of a girl involved in the sex trade is 13,” Kutcher says. “And the average man who buys a girl is 30-years-old, has no prior criminal record, and has a well-paying job.”

Kutcher explains that the “Real Men Don’t Buy Girls Campaign” contains a message he hopes people are willing to pass around; one that specifically addresses the male psyche, while also being entertaining and informative.

“Once someone goes on record saying they are or aren’t going to do something, they tend to be a bit more accountable,” says Kutcher. “We wanted to make something akin to a pledge: ‘real men don’t buy girls, and I am a real man.’”

Ashton and his foundation have released a bunch of videos, featuring celebrities such as Justin Timberlake, Sean Penn, Bradley Cooper and Jamie Foxx.

Ashton said, “At the end of the day anyone and everyone can be involved in this campaign. The minute you like our Facebook page, you’re already one step closer to this three-step-process, you’ve made an advocacy video that you can share. One minute of your time might be all a girl needs to save her from sex trafficking.”

Here’s my question – does the video work? Does it make you stop and think about sex slavery? I don’t get it. I don’t think the video is poignant or makes me think about anything other than the fact that Ashton Kutcher is NOT FUNNY. He’s trying to play on his goofy image, but I don’t think it makes any sense in this context. He’s comparing sex-slavery to doing laundry?

What do you think?

Ashton Kutcher buys a $4,000 survival kit

Ashton Kutcher likes to be ready — for anything. The actor recently visited the Surplus Value Center in LA and stocked up on $4,000 worth of survival gear for himself and his family. “He is obsessed with the idea of either an earthquake or massive uprising,” an insider tells In Touch.

Ashton bought some basic survival packages: emergency blankets, hand-powered radios and flashlights, as well as a lot of emergency water rations and ready-to-eat meals.

“The store specializes in anything you might need for basic survival in the event of a natural disaster,” says the insider. “Ashton apparently likes to keep up a good stock of emergency goods.”

And he’s not the only one! Stars including Kiefer Sutherland, Leonardo DiCaprio and Angie Harmon are all regulars at the Sunset Boulevard shop, the insider reveals.

Kinda jealous, not gonna lie. I need to put together a survival kit! If something happened here, I’d be in trouble! Living on the west coast – we keep hearing that we’re next for a big earthquake – and it freaks me the crap out!

Are you ready for “the big one”!?
