Everywhere I look this morning, I’m seeing this stupid Popchips ad that stars Ashton Kutcher. What this has to do with Popchips, I’ll never know. It’s not even the slightest bit interesting, OR funny, and seems like a royal waste of money.
Anyway, the reason everyone’s talking about it – is because Ashton appears in “brownface” and apparently it’s offensive. I’m sorry – I think this is taking it waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too far. Offensive? He’s trying (and in all fairness, not succeeding) to be funny. No – it’s not funny, but is it really offensive? C’mon now.
A new “viral campaign” (read: advertisement) for Pop Chips that features Ashton Kutcher impersonating a “Bollywood producer” who’s “looking for the most delicious thing on the planet” has generated a great deal of controversy.
Shortly after the advertisements went online, a number of Twitter users began criticizing the actor and company for using a white actor for the Indian character. Kutcher shakes his head as he speaks and effects a strong accent in the clip. The “brownface” controversy quickly took hold, with prominent Twitter personalities like writer Anil Dash and New York rappers Das Racist (the name existed before their claims) tweeting their disgust with the campaign.
It appears that while the other videos remain online, Pop Chips has pulled down the “Raj” spot in question after the story did not go away. Though the character remains in a compilation video, the individual “Raj” ad is no longer on the Pop Chips YouTube page. You can view part of the clip in the video at the top of this post.
Pop Chips has responded to the criticism with a statement. “The new popchips worldwide dating video and ad campaign featuring four characters was created to provoke a few laughs and was never intended to stereotype or offend anyone. At popchips we embrace all types of shapes, flavors and colors, and appreciate all snackers, no matter their race or ethnicity. We hope people can enjoy this in the spirit it was intended.”

Are Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis really just friends? REALLY?
I’m not so sure. The “friends” and former That ’70s Show costars went on a three-day getaway to Carpinteria, Calif., a costal town just south of Santa Barbara. They drove up together on thursday, stopping to buy roadside blueberries and sunflowers and spending the evening dining on Carpinteria sushi. The next day, the two got coffee and headed back to Los Angeles.
Though Kutcher, 34, and Kunis, 28, are still playing the “just friend” game, this seems a little more than that. A source says that Kutcher has always had a thing for Kunis going back to them working together. “He was so in love with her for a while when they worked together,” says the source. “He thought she was a goddess, was always talking about how beautiful she is. But she was with Macaulay [Culkin] for a lot of that time and also just generally gave off a not interested vibe.”
Still, other sources say that Kutcher doesn’t want a relationship. What about Kunis’ camp? We want a rebuttal!

It’s easy to believe them, as these two have been friends for years! Still, when they go out on the town (especially two people as pretty as Kutcher and Kunis), we have to wonder. The two were photographed shopping together for furniture and hanging at Kutcher’s new Hollywood Hills home on Sunday.
A source close to Kunis agrees that the actress and her longtime that 70′s show friend are totally, completely, strictly platonic. “She would never ever,” the insider shares.
Just a refresher: Kutcher split with ex Demi Moore after six years of marriage last November, and Kunis broke up with longtime boyfriend Macauley Culkin in 2010 after 8 years of dating. Sounds like rebound time, but probably not with each other!
Rihanna should be used to getting grilled about her love life, but the singer wasn’t amused when a reporter tried to get her to fess up to dating Ashton Kutcher during an interview about her new movie ‘Battleship’. Rihanna was spotted showing up Ashton’s house around midnight on March 20th, staying for about three hours and sparking rumors that they’re an item.
“Things are clearly going brilliantly in your career. I just wondered if you are as happy in your private life,” one reporter asked the Grammy winner. “Will we be seeing a certain Mr. Kutcher perhaps making a trip over here?”
Rolling her eyes, Rihanna responded: “Wow. How disappointing was that question? I’m happy and I’m single, if that’s what you were really asking.”
You can’t blame him for trying, right? That’s his job!
Talk about an odd couple! I would never think to put these two together, but who knows!
Rihanna was spotted arriving at Ashton Kutcher’s bachelor pad around midnight last night, and she stayed until 4:00am!
Rihanna — and her security team — stopped by Ashton Kutcher’s swanky L.A. house for a little late night visit Wednesday.
According to the photographer, the “Birthday Cake” singer got to Ashton’s home right around midnight … and didn’t leave ’til roughly 4 AM.
As we previously reported, Justin Bieber recently checked out Ashton’s $10 million bachelor pad on his high-end real estate hunt … but we’re guessin’ Rihanna wasn’t there for an open house.
So far, no comment from Rihanna’s rep.
If she were going for a hookup, then I find it odd she’d bring her security team. But hey, to each his own.
The 49 year old actress had been receiving treatment for an eating disorder and addiction at Cirque Lodge in Sundance, Utah.
Moore is currently said to be on vacation at a private location.
“She’s in no rush to get back to L.A.,” a source tells the site. “She’s on total lockdown and only talking to a small group of people.”
Moore’s decision to seek treatment came on the heels of her emergency hospitalization after smoking an “incense-like substance” January 23. “Everyone thought she was going to die,” a source told Us in February. “It was terrifying.”
Following her split with Ashton Kutcher in November, the actress’ life was “in complete crisis,” another insider told Us. “She is turning 50 in November and has no idea who she is or what her life should be.”
Friends of Moore were relieved the actress decided to finally face her issues. “She knows she’s in a bad place and needs help,” a source explained of the actress, who first went to rehab in 1985. “She needed something serious to get her back on track.”
Hopefully her life will get back on track. It’s a lifelong process and with the support of friends and family, she will be just fine.
“Two and a Half Men” star Ashton Kutcher was spotted sitting court-side at the Los Angeles Lakers game Tuesday night at the Staples Center. Kutcher, sporting some scruffy facial hair and baseball hat, cheered on the Lakers as they defeated the Houston Rockets 108-99.
The newly-single Kutcher — he split from wife, Demi Moore, back in November — recently returned to Los Angeles after spending the holidays overseas. The 33-year-old tweeted photos from Italy with pals. His time spent with screenwriter Lorene Scafaria sparked rumors that he may have found a new flame, but reports claiming the the pair were more than friends were quickly quashed.
