Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz were married Saturday evening in an intimate ceremony, their spokesperson tells People exclusively.

“We’re delighted to confirm that Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson were married this evening in front of family and close friends,” said the spokesperson.

Simpson, 23, wore an ivory lace wedding gown by Monique Lhuillier accessorized with a diamond necklace and earrings by Neil Lane as she and Wentz, 28, exchanged vows in front of 150 guests at her parents’ Los Angeles area home.

Dad Joe Simpson performed the non-denominational ceremony, while sister Jessica served as maid of honor. Wentz’s English bulldog, Hemingway, was the ring-bearer. Guests included Jessica’s boyfriend, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden, as well as actor Donald Faison with girlfriend CaCee Cobb.

Simpson told People on Friday that she was never the type to dream about her wedding when she was growing up, but changed her tune once she got engaged. “Now that I’m doing it, I definitely have that big dream. It kind of went more fairytale than I thought. I got really into it.” Added Wentz, “She has this amazing imagination and to watch it take place is an awesome thing.”

With the help of wedding planner Mindy Weiss, Simpson got her dream nuptials: The Alice in Wonderland themed reception featured a wedding cake by Sam Godfrey of Perfect Endings with a top hat, tea pot, stop watch and a pot of flowers on top. The elaborate centerpieces of black beauty roses were by Mark’s Garden. Guests were served Rose Veuve Clicquot champagne followed by a sit-down dinner and dancing to a deejay.

Simpson, who is pregnant with the couple’s first child, and Wentz, the bassist for Fall Out Boy, have been linked since the fall of 2006, when they were spotted kissing at a New York nightclub. They announced their engagement last month.

“He’s a cutie,” Simpson told People last year. “He has an awesome personality and kind of brings out the best of me and I knew that even before we were dating. There was just like an awesome connection we had.”

After they’d been dating almost a year, Wentz told People, “We’re past the honeymoon period. The truth is, it’s crazy to be able to kiss your best friend. It’s just a really awesome thing.”

This is the first marriage for both.

Tony Romo and Jessica Simpson may be done, but her dad still wants the quarterback to “support the family” at Ashlee’s weekend wedding.

“Joe has called Tony and asked him to come to show support for the wedding,” a source tells Usmagzine.com.

It’s unclear if Romo accepted Joe’s request, but he’s scheduled to fly into L.A. over the weekend.

Romo wasn’t present at a bachelor party Joe threw for Pete and a few of his pals at Mr. Chow’s on Thursday night. E! reports a steady supply of beer and wine was brought to their table. After the celebration, Joe picked up the $1,000 tab!

“Proper invites have not been sent out but instead guests have been given a save the date notice,” a source told Us.

The rehearsal dinner – described by the source as “an intimate affair” for “family and close friends only” – will take place on Friday.

Ashlee Simpson, along with mom Tina and sister Jessica, celebrated her impending nuptials to Pete Wentz with an intimate bachelorette party on Thursday night, according to E!. The get-together was held at her parents’ home in Encino, Calif. where it was decorated with balloons and tents were set up on the home’s property to party in.

The party was attended by some of Ashlee’s closest friends and family. Meanwhile, Pete had his own little celebration. In attendance, was his future father-in-law Joe Simpson, who was in NYC earlier that day and told OK! “I’m delighted for them.”

The boys, along with some of Pete’s friends, got some grub and beers at Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills, where Joe paid the bill. The couple will reportedly marry this Saturday in L.A.

While her little sister’s wedding plans remain shrouded in secrecy, Jessica Simpson revealed one detail: She’s the maid of honor!

“Of course,” the 27-year-old told People when asked if she’ll be standing next to Ashlee on her big day.

Performing in front of nearly 35,000 people at Camp Pendleton Thursday night, Jessica was in fine form for the troops, belting out “These Boots Are Made For Walkin’ ” at a three-hour concert that also featured Snoop Dogg, Janet Jackson, Ne-Yo, and Pamela Anderson. Ashlee Simpson was once so desperate to fit in as a dancer, she succumbed to an eating disorder.

The 23-year-old stunned fans earlier last month when she proudly posed for the June cover of Shape in a red string bikini with a newly toned figure.

But she insists she wasn’t always as confident with her body image.

She recalls, “When I went to ballet school, I was around a lot of girls with eating disorders, and I actually had a minor one myself. It was about six months of not eating too much at all. I was 11 and five foot, two inches and about 70 pounds. My parents stepped in and made me eat.”
