Anne Heche gets a break in her child support payments

Anne Heche

Anne Heche has won her battle to reduce child support payments to her ex-husband.

The former Ally McBeal star pleaded poverty in court last month, blaming the cancellation of Men In Trees for her inability to pay child support.

The star was granted a reprieve in the monthly payments of $14,978 to her ex-husband Coley Laffoon for their six-year-old son Homer, and now the full extent of her financial win has been decided.

According to an order signed on Friday and obtained by TMZ.com, the actress’ monthly payments have dropped from almost $15,000 to a more manageable $3,700.
Heche will no longer have to pay for all her son’s private school fees either - the new order declares she’ll share the burden with her ex-husband Coley Laffoon.

The actress has also been ordered to pay Laffoon a lump sum divorce settlement of $275,000.

Anne Heche: I can’t afford child support

Anne Heche

Anne Heche says she can no longer afford to pay the nearly $15,000-a-month in child and spousal support because she’s unemployed after the cancellation of Men In Trees.

“I am continuing to look for work, but I have no offers pending and the impending strike by the Screen Actors Guild reduces my prospects for work even further,” Heche, 38, writes in court papers.

A judge Wednesday gave her a temporary break, saying she didn’t have to pay her next support payment to her ex Coley Laffoon, 34, covering the month of July. But Superior Court Judge Gail Ruderman Feuer ordered the actress to provide updated income and expense information.

In a court declaration, Heche indicated her financial straits were dire and that she can no longer afford to pay the $14,798 in monthly support, along with private school tuition for her 6-year-old son Homer, the mortgage on her house in Canada where Men In Trees filmed, rent on her Los Angeles home and car expenses.

“Since January 18, 2008, I have been unemployed and had no income from employment except for one very short-term contract for a movie role for which I received a total of $65,00, approximately the amount I received for one episode of Men In Trees, she writes.

She adds: “I do receive some residuals from previous acting work. However, the amounts are nominal and are offset by recurring business expenses that must be paid whether or not I am working.”

Anne Heche in negotiations to strip onscreen

Anne Heche

Anne Heche is set to shock fans by flashing her flesh in new movie comedy Spread - and she’s currently negotiating just how much she’ll bare.

The former Ally McBeal star admits “there’s a lot of” nudity in the film, in which she stars alongside Ashton Kutcher and Laura Linney. She says, “They (producers) asked me, ‘Just how much will you do?’ “They’ll pay me a lot of money to do it - I told them they would have to… It goes by inches: ‘How much will you pay for a knee?’”

Anne Heche on her love life.

20070517heche.jpg

When Anne Heche left her husband Coley Laffoon for her Men in Trees co-star James Tupper in 2006, ending his marriage as well, it seemed like just another crazy chapter in the actress’ colorful life. But in a segment set to air on Extra Wednesday night, Heche, 38, makes her new life with Tupper, 42, sound almost normal! “We’re so much more comfortable now that our feelings are exposed and everybody knows about them,” she says.

She says that being a couple makes working together easier. Heche tells Extra about love scenes with Tupper, “They’re less challenging…Usually when you’re doing a love scene with somebody you’re not in love with, it’s like you kiss and you kiss and then you think, ‘Oh, great.’ And then they yell,’Cut,’ and you just split apart right away and act like you don’t really like the person.”

But for Heche and Tupper, “When they yell, ‘Cut,’ we just lay there and wait for the next take to go!”

Will Heche, who has a five-year old son with ex Laffoon, and Tupper start a family of their own? The actress will only reply, “Gotta leave it open, ya know what I’m saying?”

And, if the past is any indication, when it comes to Heche, anything goes.

Anne Heche’s Heart Told Her ‘Romance Couldn’t Wait’

trees_1.jpg

Anne Heche had no plans to fall in love on the set of her TV series Men In Trees - but her heart told her she couldn’t give up the chance of romancing co-star James Tupper. Both stars ended their respective marriages after meeting each other on set, and Heche accepts that many people must think they’re mad to give up families for a behind-the-scenes romance.

However she insists love is driven by fate, and it’s no mistake when two people fall for one another. Heche says, “I think people find each other who are kind of similar, and, through talking and sharing, you find that you want to spend more time with them.”

After romancing lesbian comedienne Ellen DeGeneres and then dumping her for cameraman Coley Laffoon, Heche understands when people think she’s a carefree romantic, but insists she has always followed her heart. She adds, “I gotta go where it leads. People are somewhat confused by me and I understand that, but I am also proud that I’m a woman who represents… making difficult choices that bring you to where you want to be.”

Co-star Tupper, who plays her on/off boyfriend on the TV show, admits he was shocked when he realized he was falling for his co-star. He explains, “I’d heard a lot of things about Anne… and I found this wonderful, hard-working, beautiful woman.”

Anne Heche, James Tupper Move in Together

anne_heche.jpg

Anne Heche’s Men in Trees costar James Tupper recently bought a new home in West Vancouver, where he’s living with the actress – a situation he says “feels a little bit like heaven,” he tells his local newspaper.

“We are just exploring our relationship and it has been going very well,” Tupper, 42, says to the Vancouver Sun. “Where is it going? I don’t know. Ask me again in a year.”

As for their current situation together, Tupper says, “Canadians are so respectful, they really leave us alone a lot. We have experienced nothing but generosity and openness.”

Before going back to work on the second season of the ABC show about a big city therapist in a small Alaskan town, Tupper and Heche, 38, spent three-and-a-half months in Los Angeles with Homer, Heche’s 5-year-old son from her former marriage to Hollywood cameraman Coley Laffoon.

“He is unbelievable,” Tupper says of Homer. “We had a cast baseball game on the weekend and he came off and slugged it over the short stop. He has got a preternatural swing.”

It was while shooting the show that Tupper and Heche first became friends who, he says, kept very clear boundaries.

“In that friendship, we kind of discovered we saw the world in a somewhat similar way,” says Tupper, who’s originally from Nova Scotia. “I think we both made decisions that were based on the relationships we were in. ”

Yet the friendship eventually blossomed into something more, and the couple started dating last January.

As for his costar on and off the screen, Tupper says, “I wish people could meet her in person. She has such a sparkle and such a love for people and she works so hard. She is so dedicated to all the good things.”

Anne Heche gets her furniture, joy…

 anne-heche_divorce.jpg

A judge ruled ,Tuesday, that Anne Heche may keep some of her furniture and linens in the very bitter divoce between the Men in Trees star and her estranged husband Coley Laffoon.

Laffoon, 33, had accused Heche, 38, of taking a taking a number of items from the Los Angeles house they’ve been using alternately while Heche has been in town.

Heche countered that she needs the items to furnish her place in Canada, where she started filming her ABC show this month. She said that “for months” she’s been asking Laffoon what he wants to keep and “he has not responded.”

So, she took what she had purchased before their marriage. “I intend to use them in my Vancouver residence,” she wrote in court papers. “I do not intend to dispose of any of these items.”

Superior Court Judge Frederick C. Shaller allowed her to keep the items, but also ruled that Laffoon may have “temporary exclusive use and occupancy of the residence” until it’s sold or until a further court ruling.

Boring, boring I know. Anne Heche freaks me out, and her divorce battle is lame. But hey, someone might be interested in the divorce proceedings right?
