Anne Heche and James Tupper have been building a life together ever since falling for each other in 2006 on the set of the TV series Men in Trees, but don’t expect to hear wedding bells any time soon. “We are eternally engaged,” James, who now stars on the NBC medical drama Mercy, tells Life & Style. “That means I have to give her a new ring every year. I’m not saying we’ll never [officially] get engaged, but she likes getting a ring every year.”
The couple are raising two kids: Homer, Anne’s 7-year-old from her first marriage, and their son, Atlas, whom they welcomed in March. Is another on the way? “I’d love to have a girl,” says James. “I’m trying to talk Anne into it, but like every actress, she says, ‘I don’t want to get fat again. I have a career!’”
BONUS: Anne Heche goes on Letterman and proves to the world that she’s still crazy.

Anne Heche’s ex Coley Laffoon is firing back after she called him a “lazy a**” on Wednesday’s Late Show With David Letterman.
“After coming home from showing two different clients two different condominiums, I was disturbed to see Anne taking out her personal frustration on the father of her child on national television,” Lafoon, 35, an employee with Los Angeles real estate company Hilton & Hyland, tells Usmagazine.com in an exclusive statement.
On Letterman, Heche, 40, complained about the $3,700 per month in child support she gives Laffoon for their 7-year-old son, Homer. “He goes out to the mailbox and he opens up the little mailbox door and goes, ‘Oh! I got a check from Anne! Oh! I got a check from Anne! Yay!’” she sardonically told Letterman.
Laffoon, who filed for divorce in February 2007 after five years of marriage, also responded on his Facebook page, writing: “I wish Anne Heche could see that public bullying isn’t good for the soul or positive for her child. It’s mean.”

So what does Anne Heche really think of her ex-husband, Coley Laffoon?
“Can you say ‘lazy ass’ on TV?” the Hung star, 40, said in a fiery interview on Wednesday’s Late Show With David Letterman. She then sarcastically added, “No, no, no. That’s terrible.”
Heche and Laffoon – who have a 7-year-old son, Homer – have been bickering ever since he filed for divorce in February 2007 after five years of marriage. She said he was a deadbeat who watches porn and hits strip clubs; he called her mentally unbalanced.
Last June, they reached a settlement, with her agreeing to pay him a $275,000 lump sum and $3,700 per month in child support for their son.
But Heche is still bitter.
Asked by Letterman what Laffoon does for a living, she sniped: “He goes out to the mailbox and he opens up the little mailbox door and goes, ‘Oh! I got a check from Anne! Oh! I got a check from Anne! Yay!’ ”
Heche – who welcomed her first child with current beau, former Men in Trees costar James Tupper, in March – also scolded Letterman for wedding his longtime girlfriend Regina Lasko.
“Don’t get married,” the actress told him. “Forever engaged is a wonderful romantic thing to do.”

Anne Heche and beau James Tupper welcomed their first child together over the weekend, a son named Atlas, a source tells Usmagazine.com.
Heche finalized her divorce from ex Coley Laffoon — the father of her 7-year-old son, Homer — earlier this week. “Homer is very excited to be a big brother,” the source tells Us.
Heche exclusively confirmed she was pregnant to Usmagazine.com in December. “They are thrilled,” her rep told Us then.
She and Tupper first met in 2006 on the set of their short-lived ABC drama Men In Trees (I miss that show!) while Heche was still wed to Laffoon. “In that friendship, we kind of discovered we saw the world in a somewhat similar way,” Tupper, who was also married at the time, told the Vancouver Sun in 2007. “I think we both made decisions that were based on the relationships we were in.”

Anne Heche and her boyfriend, James Tupper, hang out in Venice, California. The couple are expecting a child together in the Summer.
