Following the arrests of Anna Nicole’s doctors and lawyers officials are re-examining the circumstances surrounding the death of Anna Nicole Smith.

“Our prosecutor’s have met with representatives of the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office and the California Department of Justice and discussed the evidence they have turned up in their investigation,” says Ron Ishoy, the spokesman for Ft. Lauderdale State Attorney Mike Satz.

“We are now investigating that evidence to see where it might lead in relation to Ms. Smith’s death here in Broward County in 2007.”

It is possible that prosecutors may reopen the case it if they find evidence that the defendants illegally administered drugs to Anna.

Anna Nicole Smith’s longtime partner and attorney, Howard K. Stern, and a doctor were jailed Thursday on charges of conspiring to furnish drugs before her death in 2007, authorities said.

Stern and Dr. Sandeep Kapoor were arrested and later released from a Los Angeles County jail Thursday night after each posted a $20,000 bond, a police spokesman said.

Dr. Khristine Eroshevich also faces charges and is expected to turn herself in Monday, authorities said.

The doctors and Stern devised a plan to use a fake name so that Smith could be prescribed “thousands of pills,” California Attorney General Jerry Brown said.

“She was obviously addicted,” Brown said. “These doctors had a medical obligation to prescribe medicine in a professional way. Evidence will show this did not happen.”

Smith, 39, was pronounced dead February 8 after being found unconscious in her hotel room at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino near Hollywood, Florida.

The former Playboy playmate and reality TV star died from an accidental overdose of prescription drugs. At the time of her death, several prescription medications — both in Smith’s and Stern’s names — were found in the room.

Officials said prescription and over-the-counter drugs were found in Smith’s system, including three antidepressants or anti-anxiety drugs. Also found in toxicology testing was human growth hormone and chloral hydrate, a sleep medication, officials said.

Stern, 40, Kapoor, 40, and Eroshevich, 61, were each charged with eight felonies, including conspiring to furnish controlled substances, unlawfully prescribing a controlled substance and obtaining fraudulent prescriptions from June 2004 to January 2007 — only weeks before the playmate’s death.

Kapoor and Eroshevich were each also charged with obtaining a prescription for opiates by “fraud, deceit or misrepresentation.” Each was also charged with one count of obtaining a prescription for opiates by giving a false name or address, according to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office.

Smith was buried in the Bahamas on March 2 next to the grave of her son, Daniel, who died in September, days after the birth of her daughter, Dannielynn.

Anna Nicole Smith’s former lover Larry Birkhead has spoken out in a bid to set the record straight after buying the former Playboy pin-ups lingerie at a celebrity auction – and stating it was a keepsake for their one-year-old daughter Dannielynn.

Birkhead caused controversy after telling reporters he had forked out nearly $3,000 for lingerie the late star once wore for a Playboy shoot so he could give the saucy items to their tot.

But the photojournalist says his motives were innocent – insisting the lingerie represents a huge part of Smith’s life, and says he will pass the garments on to their tot as soon as she is old enough to understand their meaning.

He tells Eonline.com, “I didn’t buy Anna’s lingerie for Dannielynn. We’re still on Sesame Street. We won’t get to Playboy until at least the age of 21. Playboy was a significant thing in her life and career. It was something that I did with pure intentions. It’s something I will give her when she’s an adult so she can better appreciate what her mother was about.”

The tot’s mom, model/actress Smith, died from an accidental overdose last February.

Anna Nicole Smith’s former lover Larry Birkhead forked out nearly $3,000 for lingerie the late star once wore for a Playboy pinup shoot as a keepsake for their daughter Dannielynn.

Photojournalist Birkhead bought a pink bustier for $1,800 and a white negligee for $1,000 at a Las Vegas Auction on Saturday.

Birkhead said he is trying to ensure the pair’s one-year-old daughter has tangible memories to remember her late mother by at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino event, run by Julien’s Auctions.

He says, “I have a lot of history I have to put together that she doesn’t really know about. Playboy was such a big part of Anna’s career.”

The tot’s mom, model/actress Smith, died from an accidental overdose last February.

Anna Nicole Smith’s mother Virgie Arthur is suing internet gossip site TMZ.com, alleging its bloggers spread lies about her and damaged her chances of landing custody of her granddaughter Dannielynn.

Arthur filed a complaint against TMZ.com and three other celebrity bloggers at a Texas state court on Monday. She is angry about a story TMZ.com published online last April, claiming Arthur had a relationship with her stepbrother.

TMZ have yet to comment on the lawsuit.

Lyndal Harrington, one of accused bloggers, said she was shocked at the lawsuit and is finding it “hard to find an attorney to stand up for (her) First Amendment rights”.

A jury in the Bahamas investigating the death of Anna Nicole Smith’s son Daniel has ruled it was caused by an accidental drug overdose, recommending no criminal charges be filed.

This verdict is huge because of what the jury didn’t say — that Howard K was responsible for the death.

The jury unanimously concluded Daniel died from “non-dependent drug use” — meaning he wasn’t addicted to what killed him.
