Angelina Jolie celebrated her 34th birthday on June 4. But while she should have been relaxing with beau Brad Pitt and their six kids, she was instead being forced to watch her back. Just days earlier, Hollywood producer Dan Lin announced that he was planning a new installment of Angie’s Tomb Raider series, which turned the actress into a star and has grossed a whopping $431 million worldwide. But he doesn’t seem to be considering Angie for the lead this time around — because, he confessed, she’s simply too old.
“It’s a great origin story that we’re going to tell,” said Lin, who recently produced Terminator Salvation. “So it’s a younger Lara Croft.” Anyone in particular in mind for the lead role? Transformers star Megan Fox, he noted, was a “no-brainer.”
No wonder: Megan, a dark-haired beauty with full lips and an edgy reputation, has often been compared to Angelina. But Angie isn’t flattered by the comparison — or the suggestion that Megan, 23, may be ready to replace her. “Angie is not thrilled about turning 34, to put it mildly,” says a friend. “In fact, she’s panicking a little. She feels that her age is starting to undercut her choice of film roles — and it annoys her that Megan Fox is being touted as the ‘new Angelina.’”

It started out as a very special birthday for Angelina Jolie — a surprise celebration at her rented mansion on Long Island, N.Y., featuring all six of her children, fresh flowers from the garden, a homemade cake — and her partner, Brad Pitt, who had put aside his problems with her and flown in from Los Angeles just for the June 4 party. “Brad made an effort to be with Angie,” says a close friend of the couple’s. “He was really hoping they would get along and enjoy themselves.” But, while Brad did go to a lot of trouble for Angelina’s 34th — presenting her with a specially commissioned painting of their family, as well as lingerie from Angelina’s favorite store, Agent Provocateur — it wasn’t long before the troubled couple erupted in a fight over Brad’s ex-wife, Jennifer Aniston. “Things were going fine, and then Angie started accusing Brad of meeting Jen in LA,” says an associate. “It turned into a massive blowup, which left Brad more disillusioned than ever.”
According to another pal, Brad didn’t stick around to argue. “He told her straight out that he’s had enough and was out of there,” the pal reveals. Four days later, Brad was spotted visiting Angelina on the Washington, D.C., set of her film Salt. But the pal says they’re just going through the motions for appearance’s sake. “Angelina has cried a lot of tears over Brad.” Another confidante agrees: “This split has been simmering for months, and unless something drastic happens, it is going to boil over very soon. The only thing keeping Brad from officially walking out is their six kids.”

It’s official: Angelina Jolie is the most powerful celebrity in the world.
So says Forbes magazine’s annual Celebrity 100 list, released today.
The star — who earned $27 million last year — knocked Oprah Winfrey out of the top spot, which the talk show host has held for the past two years.
Winfrey earned a whopping $275 million last year, but Jolie — who was No. 3 in 2008 — still got more press.
Madonna came in No. 3 this year thanks to her Hard Candy tour and all the media coverage surrounding her split from Guy Ritchie and “affair of the heart” with Alex Rodriguez, which Us Weekly first reported.
Beyonce Knowles earned $87 million and ranked No. 4, while Tiger Woods came in at No. 5 with $110 million — making him the highest-paid athlete in the world (despite having to sit out for eight months with a knee injury last year).
Jennifer Aniston came in at No. 8, earning $25 million — and beating ex Brad Pitt, who ranked No. 9 (but took home $28 million).
Barack Obama became the first active president to appear in the list, coming in at No. 49.
Also in the rankings: Ryan Seacrest (No. 44 with $38 million), Miley Cyrus (No. 29) and Taylor Swift (No. 69.)

Angelina Jolie suffered a minor injury on the set of her new fim ‘Salt” when a stunt went awry.
The Hollywood actress, who plays a spy in the forthcoming film, suffered a knock to her head on Friday morning, resulting in a cut between her eyes.
Jolie was treated for her injury at a nearby medical centre and her manager insists she will be fine.
TMZ just released the following statement from the production company
This morning while filming an action sequence… Angelina Jolie sustained a minor injury. As a precautionary measure, Ms. Jolie will be taken to the hospital and examined. Production on the film has resumed.”
There you have it.
