Lifetime is making a movie on the life of late pop singer, Whitney Houston and her rocky relationship with her husband, Bobby Brown. The TV movie will be the directorial debut for actress Angela Bassett, and is due out in 2015.
“I have such regard for both Whitney’s and Bobby’s amazing talents and accomplishments, and I feel a responsibility in the telling of their story,” said Bassett. “Their humanity and bond fascinates us all. I’m beyond excited to have this opportunity to go behind the camera and into their world.”
Houston passed away in February 2012 at the age of 48 from an accidental drowning related to drug addiction. She was a six-time Grammy winner and was also an noted actress in movies such as ‘The Bodyguard,‘ and ‘Waiting to Exhale.’
