Singer Amy Winehouse was forced to scrap a recent concert after reportedly falling ill.
The troubled 24-year-old was due to play a 30-minute showcase for industry executives at a Universal Music event earlier last week – but she failed to appear at the Grove Hotel gig in Hertfordshire, England, claiming to be unwell.
Last month, Winehouse made her first public appearance since checking into rehab in January with a satellite performance for the Grammy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles, where she picked up five awards.

Soul star Amy Winehouse’s multiple Grammy nods have boosted sales of her sophomore album Back To Black, winning her a place in the U.K.’s Top Ten best-selling albums of the 21st century.
The LP has sold more than 2.4 million copies in Winehouse’s native country since its October 2006 release, with over 318,000 of those having been sold in the last 10 weeks.
Back To Black replaces Norah Jones’ Come Away With Me in the countdown, but James Blunt’s Back To Bedlam is still the most popular album in the U.K. – it’s sold in excess of 3.1 million copies to date since hitting store shelves in 2004.
Winehouse scooped five Grammy Awards including prizes for Record Of The Year, Album Of The Year and Song Of The Year at the prestigious 10 February ceremony.

Amy Winehouse’s father is confident the singer is staying off drugs – and cites Kelly Osbourne as her guardian angel.
The Back To Black star checked into a rehab clinic in London earlier this year after a video showing the star allegedly taking a variety of illegal substances was passed on to British newspaper The Sun.
Winehouse has been spotted out partying since her time in rehab, but dad Mitch insists she is ‘clean’ – especially with pal Osbourne by her side.
He tells Closer magazine, “Staying out til 5am is what people her age do, she hasn’t relapsed. “If she’s with Kelly there’s no relapse. Kelly’s a drug counselor, so Amy’s completely safe with her.”

A leading celebrity skin expert has urged Amy Winehouse to seek a second opinion for her swollen cheek, fearing that she has something far worse that impetigo. A spokesperson for Winehouse revealed that her swelling is the result of the highly contagious skin disease, and the 24-year-old is on antibiotics.
Top U.S. skin doctor Vail Reese (who hasn’t treated Winehouse), suggests the singer is actually suffering from Staph Aureus. Dr. Reese insists this is more of a problem and antibiotics won’t help.
He says, “While it is certainly possible that Winehouse is fending off a routine case of skin strep, certain aspects are not typical. Usually strep impetigo is seen in children, who are still developing a mature immune system. The affected area may be red and tender but not usually swollen. The appearance of Winehouse’s markedly bloated cheek raises the possibility of an infection with Strep’s sinister cousin, Staph Aureus. This pesky pest tends to cause more swelling and blistering than strep, and commonly affects adults. “Certain strains have developed a resistance to certain antibiotics and can be particularly hard to clear… and surgical drainage of the swollen area may be necessary. I’m definitely seeing a rise in Staph Aureus at my clinic.”

What’s up with those bumps on Amy Winehouse’s face? The singer has been diagnosed with impetigo, her spokesman confirms to PEOPLE.
It’s a bacterial skin infection that causes pimple-like lumps – and is “is highly contagious, and scratching or touching the sores is likely to spread the infection to other parts of the body as well as to other people,” according to the Mayo Clinic’s Web site.
And yes, Winehouse, 24, had been prescribed drugs … in the form of antibiotics.
As for how the singer’s feeling, “She’s fine,” a pal tells PEOPLE. “She’s not hiding away. She’s never been one to care what people think.”
