Amy Winehouse has reportedly been ordered by her record label to kick her drug habit – or they won’t release any more of her music.
The Back To Black hitmaker checked into a London rehab clinic earlier this year at the request of Universal Music boss Lucian Grange after a British newspaper published footage of her allegedly taking hard drugs – but the star left after just two weeks.
However, despite Winehouse claiming she is finally overcoming her problems, her recent erratic behavior has led to rumors she has failed to kick her addictions.
And British newspaper The Sun is now reporting that the 24-year-old has been issued an ultimatum by her record label after she allegedly canceled a recording session in the Bahamas – with label chiefs urging her to stay out of trouble or plans to release her highly anticipated third album will be shelved indefinitely.
A source tells the publication, “Amy has been reminded of her responsibilities. Unless she is clean she will not be allowed to release another album. They would never release her from her deal, they would just not put an album out. She has been warned about her behavior and needs to keep the standards up.”

Amy Winehouse has suffered a major blow in her bid to conquer America after the organizers of a U.S. charity event axed her performance.
The troubled 24-year-old was due to sing at a New York gala next month and had even been granted a business visa to travel to the U.S. – unlike in February when she couldn’t pick up her five Grammy Awards in Los Angeles because the document wasn’t granted until the last minute. But now Winehouse has been dropped from the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual Costume Institute Gala on May 5th.
A source close to the singer tells The Mail on Sunday, “She has been told that she is no longer part of the program. It will be a huge blow for her as it would have been a great platform to break America. They love her music over there but she has yet to do a tour.”
A spokesperson for the event confirmed, “She was asked if she would be interested, and she was considered, but then we moved on from her.”

Amy Winehouse proved she is generous with her cash, after treating photographers to a round of hot drinks.
The Rehab hitmaker gave the group of snappers $40 to buy themselves a cup of coffee after waiting for the star in London’s cold temperatures.
One of the photographers told British newspaper The Daily Star that Winehouse handed the group the money before ordering them to buy themselves “something nice”.

Natasha Bedingfield has slammed the media and the public for their morbid fascination with the private lives of troubled stars such as Amy Winehouse.
The These Words hitmaker, 26, believes the public has an unhealthy obsession with stars who use drugs because of the possibility these celebrities will self-destruct under the media spotlight.
And the star has vowed she will never appear in celebrity magazines intoxicated – claiming she is an avid anti-drugs campaigner after growing up surrounded by substance abusers.
She says, “We’ve had a lot of artists taking drugs recently and people have been very excited by that. People have a certain nostalgia for the Jimi Hendrix days. And there is a circus mentality going on where people want to watch stars mess up their lives.
“They are drug addicts – it’s not right to point the finger and laugh at someone who is not well. People can be vultures.
“I am so glad Amy got a Grammy, because it’s so good to have that support. The reason I’ve never done drugs is that I grew up with a lot of drug addicts.”

Amy Winehouse is set to star in the new series of Dr. Who, it has emerged.
NME magazine reports that songstress will reprise the role of the villainess The Rani, which was made famous by actress Kate O’Mara in the 1980s.
The Rani is an evil scientific genius rouge timelord who in previous series of the hit TV show has enslaved entire planets.
This role will be the Back To Black singer’s first acting role since she was expelled from the famed Sylvia Young Theatre School.
Sources revealed to the publication that Amy is very excited about the role as she is a “massive fan” of the show.
“She was a total Dr. Who nerd as a kid,” they explained.
“Her and Blake have all the DVDs in their flat. She once even told people at the Hawley Arms that she had a massive crush on [fourth Doctor] Tom Baker when he visited the pub.”
Amy will be following in the footsteps of singers Bille Piper and Kylie Minogue and comedian Katherine Tate who have all appeared alongside David Tennant in the sci-fi show.
