Amy Winehouse turned to drugs following the death of her grandmother, according to reports.

The Rehab hitmaker’s former manager Nick Godwyn says Winehouse was devastated after grandmother Cynthia lost her battle with breast cancer in 2006.

And Godwyn admits Cynthia was the only person who could control the 24-year-old’s behavior
.
He says, “Cynthia was the one person who could make Amy behave and who she would listen to.”

And Winehouse’s father Mitch has backed up Godwyn’s claims.

He adds, “Cynthia was more like a best friend to Amy. She kept her feet on the ground. After she went, there’s nobody who she’ll listen to. She certainly won’t listen to me.”

The countdown has started—and it’s only 142 days to go before Amy Winehouse’s jailed hubby Blake Fielder-Civil gets out of the clink.

He’s been told he’ll be released on December 30 if he keeps his nose clean—in time to celebrate the New Year with his missus.

And I gather he might also be let out next month for a weekend visit if he behaves himself and stays drug-free.

But mom Georgette has pleaded with him to go home to her, NOT Amy.

She said: “We’re hoping that his probation officer will advise him to stay with us. If he’s linked with drugs on his weekend visit he will lose the right to come out early.”

Blake is inside for GBH and perverting justice. His mom added: “He will be released on December 30 if he’s a good boy. I’ve told him to keep his head down.”

Amy Winehouse is writing lyrics about cooking and her childhood for her third album, it has been claimed.

Her previous album, Back to Black, largely dealt with her fractious relationship with husband Blake Fielder-Civil, who is currently serving time in London’s Pentonville prison.

According to a report in the Daily Mirror, the singer is keen to recapture her childhood for the forthcoming record.

The lyrics to one unnamed track are: “I can cook, chicken soup, meatballs, a good chicken - jerk and fried.”

A source told the newspaper: “She’s working on one track which talks about her upbringing as a Jewish girl.

“The song brings her back to happier days when she didn’t have a care in the world.”

Amy Winehouse’s jailed husband Blake Fielder-Civil is to be moved to a prison outside of London amid fears for his safety.

Fielder-Civil is currently serving a 27-month sentence in the British capital’s Pentonville Prison after being convicted on charges of grievous bodily harm (GBH) and perverting the course of justice. The charges stem from a 2006 assault on a London pub landlord.

But according to U.K. tabloid reports, the 26-year-old - who has been seeking counselling from support group the Samaritans - will be transferred to a jail in Suffolk in the English countryside this weekend, after begging prison officials for the move because he felt suicidal.

This comes just days after Fielder-Civil reportedly broke down in tears in his cell, screaming, “Why me?”, and tearing down photos of his famous wife.

Meanwhile, the Rehab hitmaker is said to have begun househunting in the Suffolk area to be near her troubled spouse when he is transferred.

Amy Winehouse is “gutted” to have missed out on the chance to sing the theme tune to the new James Bond movie, according to superproducer Mark Ronson.

The pair teamed up to record a possible song for forthcoming 007 film Quantum of Solace, but their effort was rejected in favour of a duet between Alicia Keys and Jack White.

And Ronson admits that they are both extremely disappointed their entry was not chosen for the movie soundtrack - putting the decision down to Winehouse’s troubled personal life.

He says, “It’s really disappointing, of course it is. But at the time Amy was going through some s**t, and now she’s doing great, so who cares if we missed the Bond boat. It’s fantastic to see her back on track again. We’re both gutted we missed out on 007, but there will be other great opportunities for us.”

Amy Winehouse has found a lump in her breast, according to reports.

Medical tests have shown that the lump is benign - but it is the latest in a string of health scares for the singer.

The Back To Black hitmaker was rushed to hospital on Monday after suffering a reaction to medication at her London home.

Winehouse was hidden by a red blanket and transported to a waiting ambulance by wheelchair as police arrived at the scene.

The troubled singer’s father Mitch tried to block the view of waiting paparazzi with a sheet - and was heard shouting, “She’s f**ked up, she’s f**ked up”, reports British newspaper The Sun.

The 24-year-old’s spokesman Chris Goodman claimed the star was taken ill after suffering “a reaction to medication” after being diagnosed with traces of deadly lung disease emphysema in June.

He says, “She was taking a new (medication) as part of her anti-drug treatment program. And it was an adverse reaction to that new drug. You have to try different things but unfortunately this was not the right one.”

She was discharged from London’s University College Hospital on Tuesday morning.

Winehouse sparked fresh fears for her health this weekend when she was snapped crying and lashing out at her bodyguard in the early hours of Sunday morning before throwing herself on the floor.

She was then pictured punching a metal fence in frustration after her minder attempted to pick her up from the ground.

Amy Winehouse has been discharged from the hospital 12 hours after she was rushed to an emergency room, People has confirmed.

“Amy is fine and she is on her way home,” says her U.K. rep, Chris Goodman.

Winehouse, 24, was taken by ambulance from her home in north London to the University College Hospital on Monday night after suffering what was believed to be a seizure. Wrapped in a red blanket, she was taken to the vehicle in a wheelchair while her dad Mitch looked on.

The setback was part of her struggle to get clean, the rep insists. (Both the singer and her incarcerated husband Blake Fielder-Civil, 26, have a history of drug problems.)

“She was taking a new [medication] as part of her anti-drug treatment program,” says Goodman. “And it was an adverse reaction to that new drug. You have to try different things but unfortunately this was not the right one.”

Last month, the Grammy winner was admitted to a London clinic after fainting at home. Almost exactly a year ago, Winehouse was treated at the University College Hospital for “exhaustion.” Her father later revealed she had overdosed and need her stomach pumped.

She also spent a brief stint in rehab this year.

Winehouse’s rep claims the troubled singer plans to take it easy in the coming months.

“She has a few gigs to perform,” says Goodman. “After [playing a few summer] festivals, she is going to continue writing her new album. It will be rest and writing.”
