Amy Poehler and Nick Kroll have SPLIT!

Amy Poehler and Nick Kroll have SPLIT!

Amy Poehler and Nick Kroll have decided that it’s time to part ways. People magazine has confirmed the split, but details surrounding their breakup are sparse.

The pair began dating in 2013 and were first spotted in public together in March of that year.

Kroll, 37, often guest-starred on Poehler’s Parks and Recreation in the role of “The Douche.”

Before linking up with The Kroll Show star, Poehler was married to funnyman Will Arnett.

Arnett and Poehler, who wed in August 2003, split in September 2012. The actors share two children – Archie, 6, and Abel, 5.

Last year, Poehler spoke out about dating in her forties. She said, “I find my relationships at 40-plus are really emulsified, juicy relationships because you have more of a sense of who you are and who you want to be around. Talented men are not threatened by talented women. They welcome them. And same way with real men.”

Amy Poehler Gives Advice On Getting Into Comedy

Amy Poehler gave up her first class seat to a mom in coach

Amy Poehler is all about giving advice to young comedians- but her advice (like her career) is not for the weak!

The comedian offered some words of wisdom at the Upright Citizen Brigade‘s Del Close 17th Annual Marathon in New York City on Friday. Between perfoming and doing press conferences, the Parks and Recreation star told aspiring comedians that it’s super important to figure out why they really want to break into the business.

“If the goal is doing good stuff and working with your friends … if you’re doing that then you’re succeeding,” Poehler said. “If the goal is to be famous and make money – then you’re in real trouble.”

Poehler, 43, added, “It happens rarely and when that is your goal – being famous and making money – then you’re not paying attention to the things that will make you money. It’s a long life. It’s a long process. It’s a hard business this business doing comedy. It’s not for the weak. It’s not for the weak to be living in New York. It’s hard.”

Hear, hear. I’m glad Amy’s so realistic about her career, and especially when talking to others. While talented, she’s also extremely lucky and I know she wants to articulate the fact that comedy doesn’t often mean fame and glory. It’s the process!

Are you inspired by her words? I am.

Amy Poehler Receives Harvard “Hasty Pudding” Award!

Amy Poehler gave up her first class seat to a mom in coach

Amy Poehler may have been a BU alum, but she’ll take recognition from Harvard!

The comedian was celebrated in song, dance and an uproarious roast on Thursday as the recipient of the 2015 Hasty Pudding Award from the Hasty Pudding Theatricals at Harvard University. People reports:

“I’d like to thank you, Hasty Pudding, for reminding me how hard it is to write funny jokes,” Poehler, 43, deadpanned at the ceremony, where presenters poked fun at the Parks and Recreation star for never having won an Emmy Award, despite being nominated more than a dozen times.

“When I was growing up in Burlington [a Boston suburb], Harvard University used to be a group of buildings we threw rocks at on our way to a real job. And as I drove by and gave the middle finger to this place, I never knew that you guys would be giving me all this s—.”

Prior to the roast, where she donned a Boston College (her alma mater) cap as she rapped and feigned a romantic encounter with a Kim Jong-un lookalike, the 2015 Golden Globes co-host was paraded around the streets of Cambridge, Massachusetts, in a Bentley convertible.

Surrounded by members of Harvard’s prominent theater group, all of whom were dressed in drag, Poehler smiled and laughed as many of the hundreds of fans who lined the parade route tried to get her attention. One threw a stuffed animal from a third-floor apartment window, another handed her a note asking her to meet him for coffee, and one even threw a condom into the car – which elicited an impromptu chant from Poehler’s newfound theater friends of, “We love safe sex,” altering it from the crowd’s “We love Amy” chant.

Chris Pratt is set to receive the esteemed Hasty Pudding Man of the Year award on Feb. 6…which makes this year’s Hasty Puddings very Parks & Rec centric! Congrats, Amy. Go Pats, get to the yahhhhd and we LOVE them apples!

Former “Full House” star John Stamos enjoys dinner at Craig’s Restaurant on October 29, 2014 in West Hollywood, California. Amy Poehler recently shared a story about a dinner date with John in which she blew any chance for romance.

“I remember I was at dinner with John Stamos. I was at a restaurant. We were having dinner and I was like, ‘Oh, maybe this is a date!’ But I didn’t know. But I kinda blew it. I remember thinking like, ‘Oh, s—. Like, if this is really a date…’ I think I was wearing a Leslie Knope top (from her character’s wardrobe on ‘Parks and Recreation’). I think I was wearing a shirt from work.”
