Alec Baldwin dishes the dirt on his divorce in a new self-help book for single fathers.
Baldwin was banned by a “court order” from delving too deep into his split from Kim Basinger, which was made legal in 2002.
He explains in the opening pages of A Promise To Ourselves: Fatherhood, Divorce and Family Law, “What follows will disappoint those who hoped to find a gossipy, salacious tale of a showbusiness marriage gone bad.”
Instead he attacks the family court system, which has kept him apart from Ireland, his 12-year-old daughter with the actress.
He adds, “It is a system that is corrupt on his best day. It is like being tied to the back of a pickup truck and dragged down a gravel late at night. No one can hear your cries and complaints and it is not over until they say it’s over.”
Baldwin found time to take a swipe at Basinger at a bash on Friday, telling guests, “My ex-wife reaches an almost sexual level of satisfaction when she’s in a room full of high-priced lawyers.”

Alec Baldwin is seen in Malibu with daughter Ireland who he famously abused in a telephone answering machine message in 2005. The couple seemed jovial as they were joined by friends on a sunny day in Malibu.
She’s the spitting image of her mom, Kim Basinger!

Oscar nominee Alec Baldwin is talking nonsense! He says that he fears that he is already washed up at 49-years-old. He said the reason is that there are too many actors competing for too few roles. He added that he has turned his back on starring roles in the movie business to concentrate on 30 Rock, because he worries that he’s getting too old for the big screen.
He said, “The industry now is largely about young people. If you look at the number of films that star people over 40, there seem to be a lot less of them now. So the issue is competing to get good roles.
Dustin Hoffman said something great to me once: ‘We’re all in line. Some of us are just in a shorter line.’”
I’d still watch movies that starred Alec Baldwin, I think he’s a great actor.

Alec Baldwin has hinted that he might end his career over the controversial abusive voicemail message he left to his 11-year-old daughter, Ireland. In a recording of the message, leaked to a celebrity website, Baldwin was heard calling his daughter a “rude, thoughtless pig.”
During an interview on American chat show The View, Baldwin, 46, said he has asked to be released from his contract for NBC program 30 Rock, because he doesn’t want the show to be negatively affected.
“If I never acted again I couldn’t care less,” he told the audience.
He also issued an emotional apology to Ireland: “Calling your child a pig or anything else is improper and inappropriate and I apologise to my daughter for that.
“There’s nothing wrong with being frustrated or angry about the situation…it’s the way you do it, and as people often do in this world, I took it out on the wrong person.”
When asked by host Barbara Walters whether he meant the message for his ex-wife Kim Basinger, he replied, “I think that goes without saying.”

Baldwin did not say whether he had spoken to his daughter since the drama began, but he insisted it was an isolated incident. “In my own case, with this message, I had never done this before in my life,” he said.
In an earlier statement, Basinger said: “It is Kim’s sincerest wish is for [Alec] to finally address his unstable and irrational behaviour so he, at some point can potentially create a relationship with his daughter.”
Baldwin’s actor brother, Billy has come the troubled star’s defence.
He has said: “What people don’t understand is that when a man goes through a divorce, there is a fear that your ex-wife is poisoning the well and pitting your own child against you. Alec’s attitude and tone reflects that concern.”
Troubled actor Alec Baldwin has had his request to leave TV show 30 Rock denied, because despite recent criticism over a leaked telephone rant, he is still “an important part” of the program.
Baldwin has been attacked by family groups after calling his 11-year-old daughter Ireland a “rude, thoughtless little pig” during a recorded telephone rage, which was aired on TMZ.com.
The Departed star submitted a formal request to leave the comedy yesterday, because he didn’t want the rest of the cast and crew to be “hurt by the situation” surrounding his bitter custody battle with ex-wife Kim Basinger.
But broadcasters NBC have refused to let him out of his contract, which sees Baldwin star as a slimy but charming network executive in charge of a prime time chat show.
A statement released by NBC says, “Alec Baldwin remains an important part of 30 Rock. We look forward to having him continue his role in the show.”
A close pal of Baldwin’s confirmed the actor will complete his obligation to the program, despite telling talk show The View early yesterday he “couldn’t care less” if he never acted again.
The pre-taped appearance is scheduled to air on Friday.
Alec Baldwin has parted ways with his agents at a major Hollywood talent agency, his spokesman said Tuesday.
Baldwin left Creative Artists Agency for personal reasons, said spokesman Matthew Hiltzik. He did not elaborate.
The actor has made headlines in recent days after his angry voicemail to his daughter was obtained by the celebrity Web site TMZ.com and broadcast around the world.
Baldwin and actress Kim Basinger have been locked in a custody dispute over their 11-year-old daughter, Ireland, since their 2002 divorce.
In it, Baldwin yelled at his daughter for failing to answer the telephone for a prearranged call and called her a “rude, thoughtless little pig.”
Baldwin has since apologized.
