Alec Baldwin, “I Give Up.”

alec-new-york-mag

Alec Baldwin says he can no longer live in NYC. The actor wrote a huge essay for New York Magazine, and he comes off like a giant baby.

“I just can’t live in New York anymore,” he wrote in the cover story for the magazine which hits stands today. “Everything I hated about L.A. I’m beginning to crave … I want my newest child to have as normal and decent a life as I can provide. New York doesn’t seem the place for that anymore.”

This isn’t the first time Alex has made threats like this.

In the article, Alec, 55, defends himself against accusations of being a homophobe, which stemmed from a fight he had last November with a paparazzo, where he allegedly used an anti-gay slur.

“I’d never use that word,” he insisted, Saying people like Mayor de Blasio, “apparently gets his news from TMZ.”

Much of his article focused on MSNBC, the network that canceled his talk show following the fight with the photographer. “None of them are funny,” he said, “although that doesn’t prevent them from trying to be.” President Phil Griffin “couldn’t give a flying f**k about content.”

He claims MSNBC star Rachel Maddow was to blame for his firing, calling her “a phony who doesn’t have the same passion for the truth off-camera that she seems to have on the air.” He also labeled gay journalists who criticized him, such as Anderson Cooper and Andrew Sullivan, as being part of the “Gay Department Of Justice.” He then alluded to a “F-to-M tranny.” Classy.

He went on, “I loathe and despise the media in a way I did not think possible.”

MSNBC fires Alec Baldwin!

Alec Baldwin Arrives at JFK Airport

Alec Baldwin’s big mouth had cost him his MSNBC show!

The New York Post is reporting that Sir Baldwin has been fired. A spokesman for Baldwin doesn’t like the word “fired,” but admitted “the show is not coming back. He had questions on whether he wanted to continue.”

Baldwin’s hosting gig has been in question for over a week now, since the actor appeared to get angry at a photographer and call him a “c-cksucking fag.” He was subsequently suspended from the network for two weeks.

In a blog post for The Huffington Post, Baldwin denied saying the anti-gay slur and also addressed the fate of his MSNBC show. It debuted just one month before the incident.

“Whether the show comes back at all is at issue right now,” Baldwin wrote.

The New York Post’s Richard Johnson reported Tuesday that the rant, as well as his “diva-like behavior toward co-workers,” were to blame for Baldwin and MSNBC parting ways.

I say GOOD. Alec can’t go around shooting his mouth off all the time, it’s just not right. Who does he think he is? Just be a decent human being and stop treating people like they’re below you. How ’bout that!

MSNBC suspends Alec Baldwin’s talk show for two weeks following his homophobic slur

Alec Baldwin Keeps His Cool In New York

Alec Baldwin has had quite an emotional week or two! MSNBC has pulled his talk show for two weeks, as a result of his homophobic slur last week. Alec has ALWAYS had a hard time with the paparazzi. I could go back and give examples, but there are so many I wouldn’t even know where to start. Basically if you’re a paparazzi, you need to avert your eyes and not even make eye contact with the superior actor. My problem with people like Alec, is he thinks he’s better than everyone else. He’s now threatening to quit the industry just to have a private life. Go ahead Alec, I dare ya. Don’t make empty threats. They don’t work – just ask my kids.

And the married father of two, no stranger to public image beatings, took to HuffPo to ask for understanding. His show, he writes, might not come back at all.

As for that homophobic slur: “One is that I never used the word faggot in the tape recording being offered as evidence against me. What word is said right after the other choice word I use is unclear. But I can assure you, with complete confidence, that a direct homophobic slur (or indirect one for that matter) is not spoken.”

And then, Baldwin pleads to have his wife, infant daughter Carmen and adult daughter Ireland left alone. “My wife is a young mother with a newborn child. Yet reporters harass and hector her and our baby outside our home in ways that approximate a hockey brawl. It is shameful. And it should be illegal.”

Agreed, the paps can get very aggressive, sometimes scarily so. The thing is, Baldwin is happy to work the press when it suits him, to promote his movies or collect awards. And his wife, a correspondent on Extra, is actually a member of the media herself. They posed with newborn photos of their daughter, and had no qualms about sharing fairly personal parts of their lives with the press. And so the other thing is, you can’t have it both ways, as Baldwin surely knows by now.
