The stars of Entourage are usually just as tight off-screen as they are on the show, but an alleged sock-stuffing incident during a People photoshoot has sparked a playful war of words between Adrian Grenier and Kevin Connolly.
Grenier’s gone on the mock-defensive after Connolly appeared on Tuesday’s Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien and, after the late night host showed a People photo of Grenier, Connolly and costar Jerry Ferrara costumed as the Bee Gees for People’s Hottest Bachelors issue, Connolly told the audience that Grenier’s ample disco-pants bulge came courtesy of a strategically placed sock.
“My question is: how would HE know?” Grenier told People at the sixth season premiere party for the HBO hit. “What was he doing looking? And why was Conan looking too? It’s weird! I’ve never scrutinized another man’s groin area in my entire life – or his socks, for that matter.”
Connolly told O’Brien, “Adrian put a sock [in his pants] … When he was doing it, I said ‘What are you doing?’ and he said ‘It’s what they did in the ’70s.” I didn’t know that. And the photographer’s like ‘Adrian, we’ve got to lose one of the socks.’ And all of sudden when the photo came out I’m getting calls from girlfriends of mine, like ‘So, Adrian…’ And I didn’t want to throw him under the bus with the individual girls. I figured I’d wait until I got here on The Tonight Show.”
“How many socks are in there?” O’Brien wondered.
“I don’t know what kind of show they’re doing – It’s not a medical show,” suggested Grenier (who kept coy on the matter of did he or didn’t he) about the on-air appraisal of his anatomy. “The Tonight Show is not a medical show, and Conan should learn that.”
But even Entourage costar Kevin Dillon – who says he was “SO jealous” he wasn’t part of the shoot – admits he was surprised to see what Grenier was packing in his Barry Gibb gear when he first saw the photo. “I was like ‘What, do you have a sock in there?’” Dillon told People. “And he actually DID – I had no idea! I said it jokingly.”

Twilight star Ashley Greene has not started dating Adrian Grenier, she says.
The actress says the People magazine’s report that she and the Entourage star “got super cozy all weekend” after meeting last Friday at a surfing event is not true.
“I don’t know where that started from!” Greene told Us at the L.A. Lakers championship victory celebration on Thursday. “We ended up being at the same event and we were surfing, and we chatted and of course there happened to be a picture taken of that.”
She added, sarcastically: “And now we are dating!”
The 22-year-old star admitted that she has yet to “really try” dating since becoming famous and finds the rumors frustrating.
“It’s kind of annoying sometimes because I have been linked to so many guys, but I have been single forever!” Greene told Us. “I’m just like, ‘Ugh!’ You get the calls too, like, ‘Are you dating so and so?’”
She even has to alert family before the rumors get out of hand.
“I usually call them and tell them before because I know what’s going to come out,” she told Us. “I’m like, I’m not dating them!’”

Adrian Grenier has spoken out in defense of the paparazzi, insisting celebrity photographers are just “trying to earn a buck”.
The 32-year-old Entourage star has been plagued by swarms of photographers since beginning his stint on the hit show in 2004 – and Grenier admits tabloids have become a guilty pleasure.
He says, “They’re (paparazzi) trying to earn a buck in a fun way. Right now this sort of exploitation is accepted and embraced by mass culture, so they’re doing what they can to feed that demand and make money.”
But the actor insists he hasn’t considered going behind the camera lens for a career-swap.
He adds, “It’s not a choice that I would make because a lot of times it’s degrading to people. But we’re all susceptible to buying into it. Tabloids can be fun. I see stuff sometimes and have a good laugh. I enjoy pointing fingers and casting stones, but ultimately, I try and balance my media diet with things that are healthy.”

Adrian Grenier has laughed off reports he was dumped by actress Isabel Lucas for Shia LaBeouf – insisting the pair were never a couple.
The Australian beauty – who was a passenger in LaBeouf’s truck when he crashed in Hollywood at the end of last month – reportedly dropped the Entourage actor in August for her Transformers co-star after the accident.
But Grenier insists LaBeouf didn’t steal his former flame – because he’s been too busy having fun being single in Hollywood to have a serious relationship.
He says, “I thought it was funny that suddenly there was a big scandal, because since when were we dating? First of all, we don’t give each other those labels – it’s more subtle than that. She and I have a very open communication. We’re friends with common interests. Secondly, love and relationships are complicated. No one could ever get it right in a four-line sentence. I’m not married. We’re young in Hollywood and having fun.”
