Adam Lambert joins the cast of ‘Glee’!

Adam Lambert has joined the cast of ‘Glee!’

The 31-year-old singer will star in the show’s upcoming fifth season (doesn’t it feel like ‘Glee’ has been around a lot longer than that?).

Creator Ryan Murphy took to Twitter to make the announcement. “I am thrilled to announce that the super talented Adam Lambert is joining the cast of Glee this fall.”

Adam quickly Tweeted back, “I’m so excited!! ;)”

Fox has recently announced that four cast members would not be returning in the new season. Rumor has it Heather Morris, Amber Riley, Mark Salling and Harry Shum, Jr. are not coming back.

Is An Adam Lambert/Cyndi Lauper Collaboration On The Way?

Remember earlier this year when Adam Lambert and Cyndi Lauper jointly performed  “Mad World” during a performance in New York City?

Well, there just might be more of that for you Glambert/Cyndi fans who enjoyed their collaboration! Lambert and Lauper were so great on stage and the cover worked so well, both stars are in talks to record the song together.

Says a source close to the musicians:

“Adam and Cyndi talked after their performance. They want to record their duet of Mad World at the studio and release it. It’s just a project they want to do for fun.”

Missed their duet? Check it out HERE. Thoughts?!?

Adam Lambert bashes cast of ‘Les Miserables’, says “why not cast actors who could actually sound good”

Adam Lambert went and saw ‘Les Miserables’ last week, and following the movie, he had quite a few things to say! After seeing the musical, he went off on a Twitter rant, bashing the cast of the movie, claiming they can’t sing. In his defense, I thought the same thing about Russell Crowe. He cannot sing. He shouldn’t sing. His casting was strange to me. But everyone else held their own, in my opinion. I think everyone else sang really well! Here’s what he had to say on Twitter:

Les Mis: Visually impressive with great Emotional performances. But the score suffered massively with great actors PRETENDING to be singers. It’s an opera. Hollywood’s movie musicals treat the singing as the last priority…

Anne Hathaway as Fantine and Enjolras were the exceptions for me.

Helena B Carter and Sasha B Cohen were great too.

I do think it was cool they were singing live, but with that cast, they should have studio recorded and sweetened the vocals. . .

Eponine’s voice was cool too…

I felt like I should ignore the vocals and focus on the emotional subtext- but the singing was so distracting at times it pulled me out.

The industry will say ‘these actors were so brave to attempt singing this score live,’ but why not cast actors who could actually sound good? Sorry for being so harsh but it’s so true!

I’m so glad we are all discussing this now! Look-I grew up w this musical and so my expectations are quite high. Didn’t mean to b negative.

One more clarification: DO go see it for Anne Hathaways performance. It’s was breathtaking.

One of my favorite parts about the movie was how raw the singing scenes were. You could tell they were being sung live for the camera, and it was incredibly moving! I understand what he’s saying about casting actors for singing roles, but I can’t imagine they would have come up with many AMAZING singers who could have also pulled off the intense acting. I don’t know, no one comes to mind.

Anyway, I think the movie is amazing. Have you all seen it yet?

Adam Lambert Makes Music History

Adam Lambert is officially the first “out” male artist to have a #1 album!

This is awesome news! Though fans were nervous that his second album wouldn’t open with a bang, they can rest assured! Trespassing is officially the #1 album in the country, Lambert PR reps broke this morning.

Other gay performers such as Elton John and George Michael have hit #1, of course,  but only before they came out. Since then, they haven’t managed a #1 album.  This solidifies Lambert not only as a proud gay (and extremely talented) musician, but also as not another American Idol flavor of the week.  Go Lambs!!!
