When this season of Dancing With the Stars ends, viewers won’t have to wait long — or at all — to see their favorite celebrities on the dance floor.
Kathy Griffin will host ABC’s new show Let’s Dance, which premieres immediately after the finale of DWTS on Nov. 23, Usmagazine.com has learned.
On the new show, celebrity contestants will reenact famous routines from past music videos, movies and musicals.
“The competition will be hot — and hilarious — as teams of celebrities pay comedic homage to famous dances while competing for a $250,000 grand prize for their favorite charity,” the show’s site reads. “The show will include single dancers, duos and groups, all competing against each other to wow a panel of judges and viewers across America who will be voting each week leading up to the series finale.”
The two-time Emmy winner, 48, will host the live weekly dance-off that will run for five episodes only.
The panel of judges and celebrity participants will be announced in the next couple of weeks.

After many weeks of Internet speculation, Dallas pilot Jake Pavelka will be the new “Bachelor.” ABC made the announcement on the Tuesday night live results show of Dancing With the Stars. The new season of “The Bachelor” begins filming in a few days and Pavelka says he’s ready to meet the 25 eligible women who will be vying for his affection.
Eliminated by Jillian Harris on “The Bachelorette” last season, the 31-year-old Pavelka tells PEOPLE he’s encouraged that he will find love on the show.
“I’ve dated some really amazing girls, but I’ve never been successful at finding that one girl,” he says, “and I saw how the whole thing comes together, the process with Jillian. I saw how the process works and I believe in it. That’s a unique way to meet somebody.”
Harris, who accepted a proposal by her final guy, Chicago computer software consultant Ed Swiderski, tells PEOPLE she thinks Pavelka will be a fabulous “Bachelor.”
“Jake has a huge heart and he’s very sensitive,” Harris says. “He isn’t afraid to show his emotions. The world will see how far he is willing to go to find the right person.”
According to Pavelka’s parents, Jim and Sallie, the woman who lands their son’s heart will have to have a taste for adventure. “He likes a girl that is spontaneous,” mom Sallie says. “The way he put it to me, he would like a girl that can work in the yard and then put on a pretty dress and go out to dinner.” READ MORE

According to Music City TV, Bachelor fans will soon see a lot more of Texan pilot Jake Pavelka.
According to the site, one of The Bachelor’s female contestants is confirming Jake will be the next star, with filming to begin on October 12 in Los Angeles.
Whether or not this is true, the potential “leak” of information could be detrimental to the female contestant, whose full name and occupation was released by Music City TV.
However, the question will be settled soon enough. Bachelor host Chris Harrison announced that the show’s new star will be named October 13 on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars.
The choice to crown Jake Pavelka the next bachelor over Reid Rosenthal or Kiptyn Locke (or a potential “new guy”) was echoed by a “hunch” Reality Steve blogged about this week. Steve partially based his prediction on host Chris Harrison’s recent trip to Dallas, reported on Harrison’s Twitter.
Jake Pavelka is best known for returning to season 5 of The Bachelorette after Jillian Harris eliminated him. The pilot, portrayed as a southern gentleman, came back to confront Wes Hayden for having a girlfriend back home, a claim which Hayden denied. Returning to “protect Jillian,” Jake was edited in a positive light on the show.
A post-season interview with Wes Hayden, who was given perhaps the most negative edit in the show’s history, raised suspicions that Jake was actually interested in more face time on ABC, one of the main reasons for his return.

Cougar Town, the new Courteney Cox comedy premiered last night on ABC. I had high hopes for this show, seeing as how Courteney’s last venture Dirt was rightfully cancelled by FX (it was TERRIBLE) and Courteney deserves a break. I actually really like Courteney Cox. She was one of my favorite Friends, and I’ve enjoyed many of her movies over the years. But to get right to the point – Cougar Town SUCKS. I think if I were to sum the show up in one word, I would use awkward. It’s just weird and awkward, and completely unfunny.
The show opens with Courteney Cox examing her naked body in the mirror, exlaiming “what is that!” when staring at her extra elbow skin. This gave me my one and ONLY laugh during the 30 minute show. Courteney Cox plays Jules the lonely, divorced, aging mother of a teenage boy (who was the only enjoyable character in the whole show), who fears she has lost her sex appeal.
When her hot neighbor, (who beds a new, young woman every night) tells Courteney Cox she could never “catch a young thang” if she tried – Jules decides she’s going to prove him wrong – and “go for it”. She heads to a bar with the annoying Busy Phillipps (man, I just don’t like her) and acts like a complete moron in the bar. If older women are this clueless – then just shoot me now, and put me out of my misery.
She snags a “young thang” that was, indeed hot, and he ends up back at her place. Again – more awkwardness ensues. Her teenage son, Travis (played by Dan Byrd) walks in on Courteney Cox going down on her young man. It was WEIRD! It’s just not funny! I think having your son walking in on you giving a BJ is just NOT funny, and doesn’t belong on TV.
I just hated this show. I’ll probably watch it again – just to see if they can make something of it, but the bottom line is the show was bad. It was awkward and weird, and just not funny. I feel bad for Courteney Cox – I was really hoping this show was going to be good.
Did you watch it? What did you think?

Courteney Cox looked great in her skinny jeans and skimpy tank as she made her way about the set of her new television show “Cougar Town” in Century City, CA on September 17, 2009.

Courteney Cox has recently revealed who she’d like to be spooning on her new ABC show, Cougar Town.
In the new ABC show, the former “Friends” star plays a woman in her 40s who craves on younger men. Cox, who is also one of the executive producers, revealed that she would love to romance Robert Pattinson and co.
“We’ll have to do that,” she responded to her co-star Busy Phillips’ suggestion to have the “Twilight guys”. Cox is also weighing on how they should move on with the idea, adding “If the show is a success I’m sure it will be easy to do. But we’ll have to see how it goes first.”
“Cougar Town” is a half-hour comedy premiering on September 23 at 9:30/8:30c. Previously, Cox also expressed her willingness to have best friend Jennifer Aniston making a cameo. Cox said, “She’s a good friend and I know she loves the show. If Bill [Lawrence] writes her a character, I’m sure she’ll do it.” In fact, Aniston has been shown a sneak peek to the show and “loved it”.

Welcome to today’s episode of Splitting With the Stars.
E! just learned that the dance-happy duo of Karina Smirnoff and Maksim Chmerkovskiy have uncoupled and called off their long-pending nuptials.
“I am confirming that they did indeed break up,” Karina’s rep tells me. No word yet from Team Max.
Word of the split comes just a month after they debuted on Broadway in Burn the Floor. In retrospect we may have missed signs of trouble back on the eve of that show’s debut, when they told us their busy schedule, including the upcoming season of DWTS, would delay their vow swapping until next summer.
“We don’t plan,” Maks said. “We’re [rehearsing] 14 hours a day.”
“The only thing that we’ve decided on is next year in June,” Karina added. “We were supposed to pick the place, but we’ve never actually had the time to go further.”
“We don’t feel like we’re messing out on the wedding dress fittings,” Karina continued (perhaps somewhat ominously in retrospect). “As long as we’re together, tying the knot is a plus. It’s something extra.”
Or not.
