Ryan Lochte Is An American Hero?

By now you have probably heard about how Ryan Lochte lied out of his liar hole about getting robbed at gun point during the Olympics in Rio. Now that he has had the opportunity to once again bring shame upon our country dance his way to the Mirror Ball trophy on “Dancing With The Stars,” one of his co-stars is speaking out in his defense.

Apparently there were people at the DWTS opening night show who were protesting Lochte’s appearance on the hit dancing competition. The protesters wore anti Lochte t-shirts and wanted to rush the stage after Lochte performed his first dance with his professional dance partner Cheryl Burke.

With regard to the kerfuffle, rapper turned TV host Vanilla Ice said, “The guy’s an American hero. Get over the story. It doesn’t matter. And you know what, the guy that came out here with the shirt – never cater to a hater, just say later.”

Former governor of Texas Rick Perry had this to say about Lochte’s protesters: “This ain’t the place for that, man. If you want to protest, go find yourself someplace. Don’t come and disrupt a really fun time for America. This isn’t a place to bring your politics; this isn’t a place to bring anything other than your joy of living and joy of dancing.”

Amber Rose said that Lochte “didn’t deserve that. It was his moment to shine, and it was really messed up.”

Jana Kramer said, “I just want America to see the Ryan that we’ve gotten to know, because he’s a really, really good dude. We all make mistakes.”

Professional dancer Derek Hough added, “I actually came out and said, ‘You all need to leave because this is our home, this is our house. This is a positive place, we don’t need that here, so you just need to leave.'”

And just like that, Ryan Lochte has a whole crew of people sticking up for him. Do you agree that the protesters need to take their antics elsewhere? Or should they have been allowed to voice their opinion over the travesty that has become synonymous with Ryan Lochte’s name at the Olympics?

Is Ryan Lochte an American hero just because Vanilla Ice says so? What he did was definitely bone-headed, but how long are we going to tear him down because of it? Thoughts?
