Last night was supposed to be Britney Spears’ big VMAs comeback. Sure, she’s BEEN to the VMAS (in 2011 she picked up the MJ Video Vanguard Award) but she hasn’t performed…until last night. But the question is- did it matter?
Britney performed “Make Me” and “Me, Myself and I” with G-Eazy, who already seems “bigger” (not just physically, but presence-wise) than Britney during this performance. And it was not good that they put her on after Beyonce. Britney didn’t have a chance! Her music seems so dated and flimsy next to Lemonade. Also, don’t EVER use the lyric “raise the roof” unless you want to sound like someone’s mom. Am I right? Anyhow, Here’s her performance:
I liked the shadowbox effect but there wasn’t much singing or dancing, and the chemistry between G-Easy and Britney was really, really hard to watch. Why even put them together if it’s going to be like a teenage dance where nobody wants to be there?
Anyhow, take a look and let us know what you thought of Brit-Brit’s comeback.
