This is devestating.
At least 50 people were killed and more than 50 others were wounded in what is being called the worst mass shooting in the history of the United States. Early Sunday morning, gunman Omar Mateen opened fired and took hostages at Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida, and was killed along with 50 others in a shootout with law enforcement after a three-hour siege.
The assailant used a AR-15 type rifle and a handgun, officials said. Seddique Mir Mateen, Mateen’s father, told NBC News that “this has nothing to do with religion” in spite of reports that his son had declared his allegiance to ISIS. Sure, it may not have, but it definitely has to do with hate, anger and extreme violence stemming from a deep-seated sense of injustice based on (very twisted) some way of thinking.
