I guess mother-daughter covers are “in?”
Cindy Crawford and her 14-year-old daughter Kaia covered Vogue Paris several months back, and now Kate Moss and her 13-year-old daughter Lila Grace are following suit, putting their freckled, beautiful mugs on the cover the new issue of Vogue Italia. Though I like Kate well enough, I dig her daughter Lila’s look- she’s an interesting blend of both of her parents and again, I’m a freckle-lover.
I have to wonder if Lila is interested in modeling like her mom, or if she’s just a semi-normal kid with a famous mom. Lila’s dad Jefferson Hack did provide a bit of insight a recent interview, saying:
ââ¬ÅI spend a lot of time with Lila Grace. Sheââ¬â¢s 13 and my relationship with her and her mum, Kate, is the thing Iââ¬â¢m most proud of. That is life with a capital L. Everything else is window dressing. I have Lila at least one night in the week and every other weekend. We use FaceTime most evenings. She thinks me and her mum are deeply uncool. I donââ¬â¢t think her music tastes are cool ââ¬â Capital radio and Justin Bieber. She keeps me real. Iââ¬â¢m not on Snapchat. Itââ¬â¢s wrong when parents act like their kids. I donââ¬â¢t buy into the ââ¬Ëmy mumââ¬â¢s my best friendââ¬â¢ ethos. Kateââ¬â¢s a great mum and they have a fantastic relationship.ââ¬Â
This is a classic Beckham-move: it’s like, even if your parent is one of the coolest people in the world, it’ll still be uncool to like them and/or follow in their footsteps. That being said, If I was Lila I’d be thankful in a genetic sense that she’s the kid of Kate Moss.
But it’s gotta be embarrassing if the rumors are true about Kate dating her friend’s 18 year old son. Now THAT would be mortifying.
