Richard Simmons was hospitalized for dehydration over the weekend, and wants everyone to know that he’s not feeling or being weird at all, and that he’s toootally fine aka as weird a usual. The 67-year-old fitness guru released a statement to Us Weekly on Sunday to assure fans that again, he’s only status quo weird, not sick or “be alarmed” weird:
“Thank you to everyone who has reached out with love and concern after hearing I was in the hospital. I was dehydrated and needed some fluids and now I am feeling great!” Simmons tells Us. “Summer is here — drink plenty of liquids. Big hugs and kisses for caring.”
The Sweatin’ to the Oldies star was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles late Friday night after he was reportedly exhibiting “bizarre” behavior and Simmons’ longtime friend and housekeeper called 911 because she thought he “became incoherent.”
He was briefly evaluated at the hospital and later released. “He’s just fine,” the workout expert’s rep told Us earlier on Sunday. So, that’s good…
Richard- we’re all nervous about you. Maybe take a break from sweating to the oldies, to just LISTEN to them? Just a little breather, bro.
