Rachel Roy pulled out of an event scheduled for Monday, April 25, due to a “personal emergency” amid speculation that she is referenced in a track on Beyonce’s new album, Lemonade.
The fashion designer, 42, was scheduled to speak at a seminar for people in creative industries but after the bomb that was Lemonade, she’s uh, not doing that. Also, she made her instagram page private after posting a cryptic now-deleted post that mentioned “good hair don’t care” a reference to Bey’s song. Rumors swirled back in 2014 that Roy was the cause of the mysterious elevator fight between Jay Z and Solange Knowles, and now it allll feels like it’s coming together.
“Due to a personal emergency, Rachel Roy has had to cancel this evening’s event. Our apologies for any inconvenience,” an event rep told Us Weekly hours before the conference.
Over the weekend, Roy was bullied and criticized by Beyoncé fans who believe the pop superstar, 34, alluded to the stylist in her track “Sorry,” which slams a lover for being unfaithful with a woman who she calls “Becky.” Beyoncé, who is married to Jay Z, sings in the track, “He better call Becky with the good hair.”
Woah. I’m going to need some time to process alllll of this. Have you seen Lemonade? DAMN. WEIGH IN BELOW!
