Mariah Carey is getting the guilt trip of her life, and probably for good reason…
On Wednesday, the singer’s dying sister Alison begged Mariah to put their differences aside to help save her life. In a video on DailyMail, the former drug addict noted:
“Mariah I love you, and I desperately need your help, please don’t abandon me like this.”
Mimi’s sister has had a long history of battling drug addiction and is HIV positive. Alison and Mariah’s brother Morgan is also involved, and seriously dissed the Grammy winner last week for not returning anybody’s calls.
This request comes months after Alison’s near death experience and almost a year after a horrible home invasion left her both brain damaged and incredibly unwell. Apparently, Alison reportedly still has a serious brain and spinal surgery to undergo and has mounting medical bills.
Mariah’s been really good at ignoring her sibling’s attempt at reconciliation in the past. Her rep says:
“Through the years, Mariah has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars supporting Alison and her children. In fact, Mariah has supported her extended family for over two decades.”
I get how the singer doesn’t want to feel like the “Bank of Mariah,” but still, this seems super serious. And Mariah’s brother Morgan agrees:
“Because Mariah has not found it in her heart to help Alison get the care she requires there are times when Alison forgets or is unable to take her medication and this sometimes precipitates problematic behavior. Alison was institutionalized for observation after being found wandering in the street barefoot and partially dressed, causing the police to be concerned.”
“The worst is yet to come and Mariah has it in her power to at least ensure a soft landing and avoid a life time of regret about missing this opportunity to forgive and help her only sister…We’re talking about small change to these people, her fiancé is a billionaire. The least they could do is put Alison in a good hospital and make sure she gets the care she needs. Mariah is the one person in the family who could actually make a real meaningful difference to Alison’s life.”
What do YOU think? Should Mariah write her sister a check?
