Though this is his first-ever cover for GQ,it feels like he’s on the cover pretty much every month, or at least some men’s magazine has him all chic n sexy on the cover o something. Anyhow, David’s on the cover (I guess for the first time- again I don’t really believe it) of GQ, and his full interview is out tomorrow. For now, we get this cover and a few delightful ol’ snippets, where he discusses his life at home with wife Victoria and their four children—and how his outlook on family has changed through the years.
On being a Dad: “I’m secure as a person, as a husband, as a dad. I’ve gone past the point of really worrying, caring,” he says of the relentless tabloids detailing every aspect of his life. “I get physically ill when I have to leave the kids now.”
on retirement: “I miss soccer every day,” he says. “I don’t know whether it’s the athlete in me, or the passion I have for the game: I always think that I can step back on the field and play…” He continues: “You know, maybe I could play another year in the U.S. If I was still living in L.A., I’d probably really seriously think about coming back for a year. But we’re living in London, and the kids are happy in the school…”
I love this dude- he just loves being a Dad! We’ll come at you with the full interview tomorrow.
