Though this is his first-ever cover for GQ,it feels like he’s on the cover pretty much every month, or at least some men’s magazine has him all chic n sexy on the cover o something. Anyhow, David’s on the cover (I guess for the first time- again I don’t really believe it) of GQ, and his full interview is out tomorrow. For now, we get this cover and a few delightful ol’ snippets, where he discusses his life at home with wife Victoria and their four childrenââ¬âand how his outlook on family has changed through the years.
On being a Dad: ââ¬ÅIââ¬â¢m secure as a person, as a husband, as a dad. Iââ¬â¢ve gone past the point of really worrying, caring,ââ¬Â he says of the relentless tabloids detailing every aspect of his life. ââ¬ÅI get physically ill when I have to leave the kids now.ââ¬Â
on retirement: ââ¬ÅI miss soccer every day,ââ¬Â he says. ââ¬ÅI donââ¬â¢t know whether itââ¬â¢s the athlete in me, or the passion I have for the game: I always think that I can step back on the field and play…ââ¬Â He continues: ââ¬ÅYou know, maybe I could play another year in the U.S. If I was still living in L.A., Iââ¬â¢d probably really seriously think about coming back for a year. But weââ¬â¢re living in London, and the kids are happy in the school…ââ¬Â
I love this dude- he just loves being a Dad! We’ll come at you with the full interview tomorrow.
