Very sad news…but happy for what you gave us, Harper Lee!
The beloved author has died in her Monroeville, Alabama hometown today. Though she suffered a stroke in 2007, she lived to the healthy old age of 89, mostly in her hometown and out of the public eye.
Lee penned the American classic “To Kill a Mockingbird,” which won the Pulitzer Prize and became a classic movie as well, 2 years later starring Gregory Peck. ‘Mockingbird’ was Lee’s first and only novel until 2014, when a manuscript was found of the first draft of her book, which she published in 2015 under the title “Go Set a Watchman.”
Though she has died, her legacy surely lives on.
