I don’t see much controversy, but Amy Schumer‘s definitely said funnier.
On Tuesday the comedian Instagrammed the above photo in which it looks like she’s having a fun beach day. She captioned the photo: “Taylor that’s not a thigh gap. This is a thigh gap.†I guess she was vaguely alluding to the fact that Taylor Swift had a thigh gap at the Grammys in her weird “Cant Hardly Wait” open skirt crop top combo. The joke is like, a jab at herself more than it is at Taylor (as in, she doesn’t think she has a thigh gap and she’s poking fun at body competitiveness) but of COURSE Swifties are going CRAY on Taylor’s behalf. Yawn.
Schumer later Instagrammed a weird photo where she’s wearing a wig and a beard, I guess as a response? So it’s like following up an eh joke with an even lamer response. She said that it was a joke at her own expense (duh) and that she’s a comedian (double duh). I feel like the whole thing just got convoluted and awkward.
Two lessons: one- make a mediocre joke, and own it. Two- Taylor Swift fans need to LIGHTEN UP!
