Still don’t know how LeAnn Rimes‘ ex Dean Sheremet isn’t gay, but OKAY. Anyhow:
I gotta give Dean credit- LeAnn Rimes dumped the dude, he moved to NY, went to culinary school and started a whole new heterosexual life for himself. That being said, he ALSO wrote a pretty bittersweet cookbook about his breakup called Eat Your Heart Out, which is about being dumped and eating a ton of rich and delicious foods in the process. Hey, silver linings, right?
Of course, LeAnn’s lawyer sent a threatening letter to Dean because, naturally, she flipped out. Radar reports:
ââ¬ÅShe cheated, I got dumped, and we divorced,ââ¬Â Dean Sheremet begins his bookââ¬â¢s introduction, throwing a reference to Gwyneth Paltrowââ¬â¢s favorite phrase. ââ¬ÅIââ¬â¢d like to say it was conscious uncoupling, but the truth is, I got knocked on my a**.ââ¬Â
Initially, Sheremet says, he blamed ââ¬Åherââ¬Â and ââ¬Åhim,ââ¬Â but ultimately blamed himself. ââ¬ÅI had been the one who was foolish enough to get caught up in a lifestyle that was so different from my own upbringing, a world where Ferraris, Porsches and private planes were the norm, where dinner parties were populated with more stars than the Billboard 100.ââ¬Â
Sheremet says the marriage began its downward spiral when he became ââ¬Åobsessiveââ¬Â about helping Rimesââ¬â¢ singing career, ââ¬Åeven to the point of insanityââ¬Â¦ I loved her more than I loved myself, and thatââ¬â¢s where I went wrong.ââ¬Â
Yikes: Sheremet says he was a ââ¬Åfather figureââ¬Â to Rimes, now 33, more than a ââ¬Åloverââ¬Â¦ It was all about her, all the time, with no room for my needs and my hopes,ââ¬Â he writes. When the chef finally left his cheating wife, he says it was just a ââ¬Åbluffââ¬Âââ¬â but he finally went through with it. ââ¬ÅWe fought, we cried, and eventually I forced myself out the door for fear that I would cave,ââ¬Â he recalls. After the split, he claims he was ââ¬Åa footnote in someone elseââ¬â¢s historyââ¬Â¦I realized that none of my hard work would ever really matter.ââ¬Â
Heavy. With feelings. And dysfunction. Of course, LeAnn wants to make this book all about LeAnn, which is part and parcel to what ‘ol Dean is talking about. But the best part…
Brandi Glanville will be interviewing Dean on her podcast today. Buckle up.
