Ariel Winter‘s 18…which means college is LOOMING.
So what does she want to study at whatever institute of higher learning she’s into attending? Well, it’s not what you’d think- acting, fashion or how to eat delicious snow cones at the farmer’s market, NO. The Modern Family star spent years in and out of courts as her guardianship was transferred from her mother to her sister and then, last year, she became an emancipated minor. Now, she’s applying to college in hope of becoming a social-justice lawyer.
“I’ve had a tumultuous relationship with the court system. But with what I’ve gone through, I think it’s really important to become a voice for abuse victims who have no voice,” says Winter. “I want to be able to make a difference.”
How very noble!
She’s hoping to go to school in LA so she can keep killing it on Modern Family, and she also notes that her interest to stick to acting doesn’t have much to do with being like, Paris Hilton famous:
“Having success and a platform like I currently have, I’m able to make a difference,” she says. “The most important thing we can do is leave a mark on this earth – not for ourselves to be remembered, but for us but to be remembered for something we did for other people. That’s really matters to me.”
I’m totally into Ariel doing this for her career. And, she can still be an amazing dresser in some high fashion pantsuits. Two birds, girl!
