It’s hard to buy for the red carpet when you aren’t a sample size!
Bryce Dallas Howard is generally pretty badass. But she’s especially so when she’s calling designers out for not having a normal woman size to wear on the red carpet.
Yesterday, she stepped onto the Criticsââ¬â¢ Choice Awards red carpet in a plunging Pierre Balmain gown, purchased online for $1,300 from Forward by Elyse Walker, and Howard is PROUD OF IT! She prefers to buy her own dresses rather than rely on a stylist to bring her samples, and here’s why:
ââ¬ÅThatââ¬â¢s the comfortable way to go through these things,ââ¬Â she says of prepping for big red carpets. ââ¬ÅI alluded to this a little before [at the Golden Globes], but itââ¬â¢s when youââ¬â¢re not ââ¬Ësampleââ¬â¢ size, or when you donââ¬â¢t have a direct relationship with a designer, or if you donââ¬â¢t have a lot of notice, those types of size 6 dresses just arenââ¬â¢t that available that much ââ¬Â¦ So, what I found is that if something is sort of last-minute, or I donââ¬â¢t have a good relationship with a place, then I go to Neimanââ¬â¢s, or I get something online.ââ¬Â
Hear that, designers? Bryce always looks amazing, no thanks to Y’ALL! Get some real people sizes avail for the red carpet, PLZ.
