Bill Cosby's lawyer speaks out; says he'll be exonerated

By now, you’ve heard the news that Bill Cosby was arrested yesterday for second-degree felony charge of aggravated indecent assault against a former Temple University associate. Now, his lawyer is speaking out – saying that he will be exonerated!

The statement from Washington, D.C.-based attorney Monique Pressley calls the charge against him “unjustified” and accuses the DA’s office of using his celebrity to set a platform for an upcoming election.

“The charge by the Montgomery County District Attorney’s office came as no surprise,” the statement to Us read. “Filed 12 years after the alleged incident and coming on the heels of a hotly contested election for this county’s DA during which this case was made the focal point. Make no mistake, we intend to mount a vigorous defense against this unjustified charge and we expect that Mr. Cosby will be exonerated by a court of law.”

Of course, Cosby is innocent until proven guilty – but after fifty women have come forward with similar accusations, it’s kind of hard to dismiss the idea that he’s guilty. Still, there are avid supporters of the comedian who claim that these women have only come forward to make their claims for a big paycheck.

Andrea Constand, the former Temple associate, actually made her accusations public in 2006 – a year after she claims he did these vile acts. Her case was pursued but dropped by the District Attorney’s office for a “lack of evidence.” Now the case has been reopened now that hordes of other women have come forward.

I, for one, hope he rots in jail. What say you?
