Angelina Jolie first opened up about her decision to undergo a double mastectomy in 2013 in a New York Times article. She revealed that she underwent the surgery and this year, she talked about having her ovaries removed. Now that she has had her reproductive organs taken out, it has thrown her into early menopause, but it doesn’t seem to be bothering her at all.
She says that she “loves” being menopausal and isn’t trying to reach for her youth. She said in a new interview with the Daily Telegraph, “I actually love being in menopause. I haven’t had a terrible reaction to it, so I’m very fortunate. I feel older, and I feel settled being older. I feel happy that I’ve grown up. I don’t want to be young again.”
In March, she said, “I feel feminine, and grounded in the choices I am making for myself and my family. I know my children will never have to say, ‘Mom died of ovarian cancer.'”
