Caitlyn Jenner made a video for the Transgender Day of Remembrance encouraging people to support the transgender community.
She said, “Listen to trans people’s stories, hire a trans person in your company, support a trans student in your school, love your trans child. Let’s all take action to put an end to hate and violence. No one should be killed simply because they are transgender.”
Transgender advocate Chandi Moore said, “Today, take a moment to learn about the women who lost their lives to hate. Tomorrow, please commit to make the world a safer place for all trans people.”
The message came on the heels of Rose McGowan’s rant after Caitlyn was honored by Glamour’s Women of the Year Awards. Caitlyn joked that the hardest thing about being a woman was deciding what to wear.
Rose said, “Woman of the year? No, not until you wake up and join the fight. Not by a long f***ing shot. Caitlyn Jenner you do not understand what being a woman is about at all. You want to be a woman and stand with us – well learn us. We are more than deciding what to wear. We are more than the stereotypes foisted upon us by people like you.”
