Kris Jenner is being sued for a hefty chunk of change over the app “Kim Kardashian: Hollywood”. A video game developer called Kung Fu Factory said that it was contacted by a rep from the Kardashian team in 2011 and that Kris Jenner and company strung them along long enough to rip off all of their ideas. Now, they’ve filed suit and are looking for damages.
Kung Fu says that it created ideas for a proposal and shipped it off to a rep for Kris Jenner. Now that “Kim Kardashian: Hollywood” is such a success, they claim that it has many similarities to their proposal.
Kung Fu says its version was very specific … including everything from how Kim, Khloe and Kourtney’s characters would look, to how the game would be played. However, months went by without any final decision from the Jenner/Kardashian camp … until Kung Fu finally heard the game talks were “dead.”
Kung Fu wants unspecified damages, including profits from the game … which are huge. Forbes estimated it would haul in $200 mil in its first year alone!
The Kardashians and Jenners would NEVER rip someone off – say it isn’t so!
All kidding aside, do you think the game makers have a real case? We’re going to need to see more proof because we can make a judgment call on this one.
What are your thoughts on the matter?
