Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez were at odds with each other for a long time

Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez filed for divorce from another after being married for two years and sharing a son together named Maceo. According to reports, the former couple had been at odds with one another for quite some time now. A source said that their relationship has been “a roller coaster from the start.”

The spy revealed, “Olivier and Halle have been at odds for a long time. After a while, there was very little left to salvage. They spent a lot of time working on their marriage. It’s been a roller coaster from the start.”

They had their problems like all couples do and another source said that “things were starting to calm down” after they enjoyed “a nice summer together.”

Apparently the last straw for Halle was when that LAX employee filed a lawsuit for five million dollars against them for assault. He claimed that Olivier shoved him to the ground with a car seat back in January.

The source said, “When she found out about the lawsuit, she was done.”

Despite her need to walk away, apparently Olivier was more committed to making things work. The insider said, “Olivier loved being married. A divorce was never the plan. They want to work it out as loving parents so each can spend a lot of time with Maceo. He deserves that and more.”

Halle spoke out herself with regard to domestic violence after attending a cocktail party to benefit a domestic violence organization called the Jenesse Center. She said, “I saw my mother battered and beaten many years of my life and I felt helpless. And that’s what connects me to this organization. I have an understanding, a knowing. I feel like I have something that I can impart to these women. It seems like I’ve overcome it, but I really haven’t. In the quiet of my mind, I still struggle. So while I’m helping these women, I’m helping myself through it, too. And that’s largely why I’m here.”

She went on to say, “For some reason, I’ve found after fifteen years of working with the Jenesse Center that when it comes to domestic violence people just say, ‘I don’t get it. Why don’t they just leave? This is ridiculous!’ I call them addicts. They’re love addicts…they’re addicted to the pain. And they’re largely addicted to the pain because they’ve been taught nothing else. They haven’t been taught that they have self-worth or value. They often weren’t loved the way they should’ve been as children from their mothers or their fathers. People didn’t say the things they should have said.”

She added, “They [the victims] go into the world feeling knee-high to a bullfrog…and they’re not equipped to deal with that that is coming at them at rapid speed. They quickly become victims of predators who just prey on their insecurity and lack of knowing who they are. And I am just tired of watching the women in our community suffer. I’m tired of watching them overlooked and made wrong and to be villainized for just trying to survive.”
