On October 30th, Jennifer Lawrence was on-hand for her handprinting ceremony in front of the TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood, California where she spoke about her Hunger Games character Katniss Everdeen.
She revealed, “I’m very grateful. I feel the impact of being part of such a huge movie that has meant so much for many people. This character is overwhelmingly supportive of women, obviously, and this iconic [role], I don’t feel a personal impact, I think if you ever become aware of that it takes away from that a little bit, it’s the movie, and the characters…it’s kind of like your avatar self.”
Jennifer also reflected on how special the movie role was for her. She said, “I feel that I had two endings with Katniss. One when we wrapped the film in Berlin and that was kind of saying goodbye to the movie and then I had a moment with my nephews about a year later. They played my children in the scene that we shot so it was an amazing closure to this character that I’ve loved for so many years to have my family there, my blood family, I got to say goodbye to both.”
Josh Hutcherson commented, “You guys supported us before the first movie, so thank you for that.”
Liam Hemsworth also chimed in to say, “I love you both so much and let’s just be friends forever.”
Mockingjay Part 2 hits theaters on November 20th. Will you be heading out to see the final movie?
