It’s pretty safe to say that Olivia Wilde won’t be casting her vote for Donald Trump in the upcoming presidential election – or ever. In fact, she thinks the real estate mogul is “really sickening.”‘
The 31-year-old actress ââ¬â who holds dual citizenship with Ireland through her father ââ¬â attended an exclusive screening Friday of Robert De Niroââ¬â¢s short film debut, ââ¬ÅEllis,ââ¬Â which gives a haunting account of the struggles faced by immigrants.
ââ¬ÅIt made me think of the current refugee crisis,ââ¬Â Wilde, 31, told Page Six of the film. ââ¬Å[America] was a beacon of hope for so many ââ¬Â¦ yet some in this country have developed this xenophobia that totally conflicts with what weââ¬â¢re based on.ââ¬Â
ââ¬ÅThe fact that we can have someone running for president who openly projects that xenophobia is really sickening, particularly when you look at a film like this and remember our roots,ââ¬Â she added.
She has a point, no? I’m actually looking forward to seeing “Ellis”. Are you?
