Jeff Daniels has a good piece of advice to Jennifer Lawrence and any others who are shedding light on the wage gapp in Hollywood: Get what you can!
Jeff has been in the acting game for quite some time and he admits that the pay model for stars in Tinseltown is far from perfect.
ââ¬ÅLook, get what you can get,ââ¬Â he said. ââ¬ÅCertainly women have had a tougher time of it, [I] absolutely agree with it. However, Iââ¬â¢ve stood next to big stars who are making a hell of a lot more money than I am. But I can relate, I can relate.ââ¬Â
The Newsroom actor added that the unfortunate reality is that entertainment is ââ¬Åa business, run by people who have three or four sets of books.ââ¬Â
ââ¬ÅWelcome to Hollywood!ââ¬Â he joked. ââ¬ÅBut if youââ¬â¢re Jennifer [Lawrence] or Jessica [Chastain] and you have the leverage, use it. Get what you can get.ââ¬Â
Jessica Chastain also said that the public’s perception of the wage gap doesn’t even begin to cover it. She said, “There’s also misinformation out there. Someone wrote a report about how much I made for ‘The Martian’, and I made less than a quarter of that.”
