Demi Lovato recently did a nude photo shoot for “Vanity Fair” magazine and according to the rules of the shoot, there was to be no Photoshop or makeup used at all. She said that the nude shoot was pretty tough and it made her feel insecure.
She revealed, “The most challenging part of that photo shoot for me was going in the buff with no Photoshop. There were times where I was looking at the pictures with the photographer and he would say, ‘Oh, we could fix that,’ and I was like, ‘No, we can’t. We cannot use Photoshop in this shoot.'”
Lovato said that she did it so that she could help others feel good about the shapes of their bodies. She said, “Of course it’s awkward. But when I start to think about the message, when I would start to think about how many people this would inspire, I got more comfortable doing it.”
She also talked about her fitness regime and said that it helps her keep her head straight. She said, “During each one of my training sessions, I focus on lengthening and toning for the bottom half of my body; that means a lot of squats and lunge variations to keep my glutes and hips strong and lean. I keep my core strong with planks, crunches, push-ups, lying glute push-ups and bridges. This strengthens my body and helps prevent injury when I’m performing on stage. Your core is your power center.”
