After Jim Carrey’s former girlfriend Cathriona White sadly took her own life, everybody went looking for answers. Some pointed out that she was in a program through the Church of Scientology and now the church is speaking out. Apparently they don’t want to take the blame for her untimely death.
A critic of the controversial religion, Tony Ortega, claims that White was taking courses at the Hollywood Celebrity Centre and had stalled in them.
Ortega adds, ââ¬ÅCathriona originally got involved in Scientology about four to five years ago through members of musician Beckââ¬â¢s circle of friends. They encouraged her to move to the US from Ireland and take Scientology courses,ââ¬Â and that White had been ââ¬Åstalled .ââ¬â°.ââ¬â°. in the last six monthsââ¬Â on an intense Scientology course called the Survival Rundown that can take ââ¬Åhundreds of hours to complete.ââ¬Â The blog also posted Instagram images of White, who died at 30, at the Celebrity Centre within the last year.
A rep for the religion said, “Saying that somebody was studying Scientology in the past and connecting that to a suicide is like saying a person who had previously studied the Bible committed suicide. It is sad and reprehensible that a paid anti-Scientologist like Tony Ortega is exploiting this terrible tragedy involving a young woman: It’s a sign of outright bigotry.”
